The concentration of apo-B in the blood serum increases with DLP (types IIa, IIb, IV, V), familial hyperabobetalipoproteinemia, nephrotic syndrome, pregnancy, biliary obstruction, hemodialysis, smoking, taking a number of drugs (diuretics, beta adrenoblockers, glucocorticosteroids, cyclosporine) .
Low values of apo-B in the blood serum are detected with hypo- and abetalipoproteinemia, type I DLP, liver diseases, sports.
