The upper teeth of this muscle pull the medial angle of the scapula forward and laterally. The lower teeth lower the shoulder blade and pull its lower corner not only downward, but also forward; at the same time the scapula rises and together with it the free part of the upper limb.

Diagnostics

Trigger zones are usually located in the subcutaneous portion of the muscle along the middle axillary line approximately at the level of the nipple, the V and VI margins are fins, but sometimes higher or lower. For the study, the patient is laid half-turned on a healthy side with a partially extended hand. Painful points are palpated in the thickening of the muscle directly under the skin, and with severe soreness there is a local convulsive response.

Reflected pain

It concentrates on the anterolateral surface of the thorax at the middle level and in a separate area is medial to the lower angle of the scapula. Pain can also spread along the medial edge of the hand, grasping the palm and the ring finger. Interblade pain caused by TK of the anterior dentate muscle is rather refractory to pozotonic relaxation, which is why it is often interpreted as psychogenic.
