Inhalations are an effective method of combating upper respiratory tract diseases. Only with steam or as an aerosol does the medicinal product get directly onto the mucous membrane, promoting faster recovery, and does not go through a longer path through the stomach. Various herbal infusions, soda, mineral water, and pharmaceuticals are used as materials. These include ambroxol, made in the form of an inhalation solution and possessing a mucolytic property that accelerates the process of secretion and expectoration of sputum.

This leads to easier transportation and removal of mucus. Other indications for the procedure with ambroxol are:

  • various types of bronchitis;
  • allergic reaction manifested in asthma attacks;

Reviews

According to reviews, many people have ambroxol in tablets, syrups, including inhalation solutions, in their arsenal for treating acute respiratory infections and coughs. Its effectiveness has been tested by time: rapid relief occurs, sputum is easier to remove, chest pain gradually subsides, and nighttime coughing fits stop tormenting. The convenience of treating coughs in children is especially emphasized, since it is difficult to make them take anything orally.

Analogues

Preparations of the same therapeutic action, with different active substances are called analogues, and with the same ones - synonyms. Inhalations with ambroxol can be replaced with others. Synonyms of ambroxol include:

  • inhalations with ambroxol - a drug with mucolytic and expectorant action, liquefies viscous sputum by breaking down intermolecular bonds. Inhalations with it are prescribed for various pathologies and conditions, with the exception of cough of allergic origin, whooping cough, measles, and tonsillitis;
  • with ambrobene - promotes expectoration and upward movement of mucus due to improved motility of the ciliated epithelium. The therapeutic effect begins half an hour after inhalation and lasts from 6 to 12 hours;
  • with lazolvan - liquefies exudate, stimulating the functions of the secretory glands of the bronchi and the tips of the bronchial tree. Even with a dry paroxysmal cough, the drug accelerates its transformation into a wet one.

Berodual has other active ingredients: fenoterol, which relaxes the bronchial muscles and blocks inflammation mediators, and ipratropium bromide, which normalizes the activity of the bronchial glands. This analog of ambrobene in solution, used for inhalation with a nebulizer, significantly improves the patient's condition, reduces the intensity of cough, promotes expectoration, and eliminates wheezing. The drug can be used for coughs of infectious and non-infectious origin.
