Burns in the home or at work are not uncommon. Often careless handling of utensils, household appliances, chemicals leads to thermal or chemical trauma. In most cases, we are not ready for such a case, and the first aid has to be provided by improvised means. Alternative means for burns: what and how can be used for thermal and other burn injuries?

Alternative means for burns with boiling water

Burns with boiling water, perhaps, are among the most common types of burn injuries. If the damage is severe, then the doctor can not do without the help of a doctor. A burn of the first degree, which is accompanied by redness and a burning sensation, can be treated with alternative means.

For example, with a small burn with boiled water, raw potatoes or carrots will help. Vegetable cut into two parts and apply a cut location to the affected area of the skin. Alternative means for burns with oil

The burn with oil is always carried more heavily than the burn with boiling water, since the hot oil after exposure to the skin continues its negative effect for some time. Thus, the burn is more pronounced.

When burned with oil, it is necessary to act as quickly as possible in order to prevent the aggravation of the injury. You can choose for yourself any of the options below for first aid in this situation.

  • We take a bit of fresh cottage cheese, apply it to the burned place and fix it with a bandage or a handkerchief. Change the bandage several times a day.
  • We cool the burned skin in cold clean water and immediately sprinkle the affected area with baking soda. Obligatory conditions: the skin should be moist, and the soda layer - very thick (8-10 mm). Keep the tool as long as possible. Can be fixed with a bandage if necessary.
  • Instead of soda, you can use salt - dry, or dissolved in pure water (1 tablespoon per half cup of water).

Alternative means for burnt iron

The burn with steam somewhat resembles a burn with boiling water, but it is often more extensive. Alternative means can be used in this situation, but only after a preliminary consultation with a medical specialist.

As the first aid for a steam burn the following alternative recipes are suitable.

  • Wet a piece of cloth or gauze in a cold curdled milk and apply to the damaged area of the skin. We do dressings regularly after 2 hours.
  • Warm up to a warm state a mixture of sea buckthorn oil, sunflower oil and beeswax, in a ratio of 3: 3: 1. With the resulting ointment lubricate the burn site approximately 4 times a day.

Alternative means of burn by welding

However, the use of alternative drugs will help to alleviate the condition of the victim and accelerate the restoration of vision.

For example, honey is an excellent remedy for burns by welding: a natural product prevents swelling of the tissues and serves as prevention of corneal opacity. Honey has a rich vitamin composition, but it can be used only when there is no inflammation of the conjunctiva.

Another good alternative is aloe vera juice - it is a natural biostimulator that starts and accelerates regenerative processes.

In addition, we advise you to pay attention to the following alternative recipes:

  • we prepare the lime color infusion (1 tablespoon per 200 ml of boiling water), filter it, moisten it with cotton pads and apply it to the eyes. We keep at least half an hour;
  • cut off the thin round blocks of raw potatoes and apply to the affected eyes for 15-20 minutes;
  • we prepare the infusion of marigold (marigold) and use it to wash the eyes. For the present it will take 1 tbsp. L. Herbs and 200 ml of water;
  • eye rinsing can also be done with chamomile infusion.

Some healers advise you to drip your own urine with welding. The effect of this method is not described, but many people say that it is still effective enough.

Alternative means for burns by fire

Burn with hot water can be treated with other alternative methods. And some means for burns can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator until an emergency occurs.

  • Take the oils of sea-buckthorn and fir, mix in equal parts. Such a mixture can be applied to the burned skin for several days until the skin condition improves.
  • To prepare the medicine for the burn we take 100 g of St. John's wort, pour 1 glass of sunflower oil and insist in the refrigerator for 21 days. After this, the product is decanted and used to lubricate the burned areas.
  • Surface wound can be lubricated with concentrated sugar syrup. For its preparation, mix 5 tbsp. L. Sugar in 150 ml of warm water.

A good and simple alternative remedy for burns is tea - both strong black and green. Brew tea, as for drinking, we moisten in it a folded a few times a piece of bandage and put it on the affected place. As soon as the bandage dries, it is necessary to change it to another, until the pain ceases.

Cure the inflamed skin with a compress made from clover. In order to prepare the infusion, take 3 tbsp. L. Flowers and fill them with 250 ml of boiling water. After half an hour, you can moisten the bandage in your infusion and attach it to the injury site.

Alternative remedies for sunburn

The main alternative to sunburn is sour-milk products. For first aid, sour cream, kefir, fermented milk and even whey are suitable. Any of the listed products lubricate the skin and leave for about half an hour, after which it is washed off.

If you do not have kefir at hand, you can grind several fresh cucumbers in a blender, and spread the resulting puree evenly over the affected skin. Top should be covered with a handkerchief or gauze, to avoid drying out. This procedure will cool and soothe the inflamed skin.

After an unsuccessful tanning, many people use strongly brewed green tea, which is lubricated by all the reddened patches of skin.

If the redness after tanning is not strong, then you can prepare the following remedy: take 1 tbsp. L. Vegetable oil, mix with 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream and 1 raw yolk. All well mix and distribute a thin layer on the affected skin. From above we cover with gauze. As necessary, repeat the procedure.

Alternative means of chemical burn

Chemical burns are specific skin lesions, which can be much more dangerous than thermal injuries. The first thing after such a burn should be washed off the surface of the skin substance that caused damage.

If the provoking substance was acid, the wound should be washed with a soda solution, or a solution of ammonia diluted with water. You can also apply a compress with the listed means.

If the burn was caused by alkali, then the wound is treated with acids - for example, a solution of citric acid or vinegar.

If the skin is affected by various fertilizers and pest control agents, the skin can be treated with gasoline.

To accelerate the regeneration after a profuse washing of the wound, a clean and chilled burdock or plantain leaf can be applied to the skin, but it is more effective to use a ground plant (passed through a meat grinder).

The burn wound will be delayed more quickly if the affected areas are treated with fresh pumpkin juice, several times a day.

Alternative remedy for vinegar burns

When burned with concentrated vinegar, first aid should be given immediately. The sequence of actions should be something like this:

  • If vinegar is on clothes, then it should be removed immediately, in order to avoid additional skin irritation;
  • Burned skin is washed with water, then with a solution of household or other soap, then with a solution of soda. The total washing time is 25-30 minutes.

Water that is used to wash the skin should be cool.

After a lot of washing, you can start using alternative means.

  • Means number 1: on the damaged skin a thick layer of poured tooth powder, which is washed off only after 2 hours.
  • Tool number 2: put the gruel from the baking soda and water for a half-hour.
  • Means number 3: in a glass of water we dilute 1 tbsp. L. Starch and put it on the wound 3 times a day as a compress.

Remember: if the injury is serious, then it is better not to use alternative means for burns, so as not to miss valuable time. In such a situation, it is better to immediately call an ambulance, or to go to the emergency department or directly to a doctor.
