Non-surgical and drug treatment is usually ineffective. It can give only a short-term effect only in the presence of concomitant allergic or vasomotor rhinitis.

Depending on the identified variant of deformation, the corresponding method of surgical correction is selected (for example, for C-shaped deformation, laser septum of the mastic or septoplasty using the principles of biomechanics, for isolated ridges / thorns in the posterior sections - endoscopic submucosal resection).

At operation on a septum of an nose the average term of stay in a hospital makes 5 days. In the postoperative period, a regular toilet of the nasal cavity is displayed, which is performed either by the doctor (removal of crusts, mucus after anemia by suction), or by nasal showers, which the patient himself produces.
Forecast
As a rule, favorable. Technically correctly performed septoplasty leads to the restoration of nasal breathing, the elimination of other symptoms and the cure of accompanying diseases caused by the curvature of the septum of the nose.
Approximate terms of incapacity for work are 12-14 days.
Prevention of curvature of the septum of the nose
Preventative measures to prevent the development of deformities of the septum of the nose practically does not exist. A potential method of preventing the formation of deformations can be immediate repositioning of the nasal septum fragments displaced as a result of the birth trauma, however, based on the results of the conducted studies, the method has not found application in clinical practice due to lack of evidence base. Prevention of traumatic injuries of the nose and septum in athletes can be considered wearing special protective masks.
