Medicinal photophoresis is a combined physicochemical method of local exposure to electromagnetic radiation of the optical range of the relevant parameters and drugs, carried out with the aid of a radiator located at a distance of 0.5-100 cm above a certain exposed area of the patient's body, the dermal surface of which contains a solution of the drug .

For this combined treatment method, the effect of NLI of the red and infrared part of the optical spectrum and the drugs used for electrophoresis is optimal. The effect of incoherent nonmonochromatic EMR, i.e., ordinary light, is inefficient due to its small power spectral density.

The characteristics of the combined effect and the main clinical effects that the drug photophore has, are due to the influence of NLI and the corresponding drug.
