Almost all authors of the classification distinguished this type of disease. P.B. Gannushkin called them still dreamers, and E. Kraepelin - eccentrics, they also received a description of inadequate from T. Henderson and pathologically closed from O.V. Kerbikova.

For these individuals is characterized by lack of communication, staying in their world, far from reality, endless "chewing" of their own thoughts and worries, an absolute lack of interest in the problems of the immediate environment. According to E. Blayer, this variant of characterological deviations is called autistic psychopathy. Indeed, these people have personality traits inherent in autistics - outwardly they show almost no emotions, their psyche is devoid of natural flexibility, movements are constrained, unnatural, they do not mix with the environment, being in their secluded world. These people are single people who do not want to communicate, preferring interesting books, cognitive and contemplative activities.

The emotional dissonance of schizoid psychopathy is hypersensitivity and vulnerability, when something touches their personal interests, and complete indifference to the problems and interests of others. All the efforts of schizoid psychopaths are aimed at satisfying their own desires and interests, while mercantilism and vanity are alien to them. Such people are considered eccentric hermits and great originals. In the workplace, they work as they see fit, absolutely not listening to the opinion of management. They are uncontrollable, they carry out only that which corresponds to their ideas about life values. Nevertheless, in the field of art, theoretical research, they have no equal, especially if they like the work. The inherent non-standard thinking, giftedness and originality of schizoids can bring them fame and recognition.

To permanent long-term relationships they are not capable and their families, as a rule, do not. To sacrifice even small for the sake of close schizoid psychopaths can not, but are often ready to carry out any abstract plans, not sparing themselves. Not wanting to take part in the problems of their loved ones, they are ready to fight day and night, for example, with global warming. Absolute passivity in overcoming vital and daily problems is combined in individuals of this type with rare vigor and assertiveness when it comes to performing meaningful tasks for them.

If the schizoid is interested in power or wealth, then such goals will also be achieved with perseverance and perseverance. For this he will even come out of his "shell".

Schizoid psychopaths are divided into two subspecies: sensitive (with a predominance of hypersensitivity) and expansive (emotionally cold with periodic bursts of excitement).

Sensitive psychopathy is hypersensitive individuals, with too tender a mental organization, for a long time experiencing even the most insignificant observation, rudeness or insulting utterance in their address. They are wary of the world around them, have a very narrow circle of communication, are characterized by painful self-love. Experiences associated with themselves and their actions are very deep. Their emotional balance is easily broken, and this state lasts a long time, the person becomes apathetic, fences himself off from the environment, leading himself to self-torture.

Expansive psychopaths of the schizoid type are distinguished by determination, absence of hesitation and doubt, neglect the considerations of others, in communicating with them they show dryness and officiality. Demand for others is combined with arrogance, cruelty and even cruelty. This behavior is designed to protect their insecurity and vulnerability, which schizoids perfectly hide under the guise of self-confidence. They like to give advice, unceremoniously interfering in other people's affairs, to talk about any topic unconventional, even when their opinions are not asked. Resonance is not combined with high moral qualities.

And although schizoid psychopathy does not belong to excitable species, expansive schizoids often display reactions of excitement as an answer to difficult situations - impulsiveness, anger, rage. In cases of severe psychopathy, due to their inherent distrust, paranoid states may appear, manifested as delusional experiences associated with an affectively charged complex.
