Statistics of hemorrhoids
Proctologists say that hemorrhoids are registered in more than 70% of people around the world - either chronic or temporary, which can be quickly eliminated. These 70% of people are those who have ever suffered from symptoms of hemorrhoids - pain in the anus, hemorrhoids, general discomfort during defecation.
Hemorrhoids are treated in different stages, but it is better to begin to treat it in advance, because at a late stage of hemorrhoids development operations may be required, and this is not very good for the body.
Statistics of references to doctors
According to medical data, a lot more people suffer from hemorrhoids than those who call on doctors for examination and treatment. About 80% of the world's population suffering from hemorrhoids do not always go to the doctor, therefore not all cases of treatment are registered. And this means that there is no exact statistics on the incidence of hemorrhoids. It is only known that 120 people out of 1,000 are susceptible to this disease and have been contacted about this by physicians.
Strong sex is subject to the incidence of hemorrhoids much more than women - 4 times. In the risk groups - those who smoke, those who suffer from chronic constipation and those who often sit in the toilet, doing defecation wrong - tightening the process and reading while smoking. From this, the thin walls of anal veins widen, collapse, thin out and the risk of hemorrhoids development greatly increases.
Anatomy of a hemorrhoids
The rectum is a very important organ of human digestion. It is surrounded by a hemorrhoidal plexus - but not simple, but double. It is a vein of internal and external veins. When a person has hemorrhoids, these veins are filled with blood, which stagnates in them. Then the veins are swollen, as with thrombophlebitis on the legs, and it appears as if the knobs are hemorrhoids or cushions.
In the initial stage of the disease, a person feels discomfort with feces and general discomfort, pain in the anus. Then, as the blood of the veins of the anal opening and stagnation of this blood fill, the pain may be stronger and stronger, at times it can be unbearable. Pain can be cutting, stitching, accompanied by heaviness and worse when a person tries to defecate.
The veins that swell under the weight of blood stagnation are gradually being destroyed. Their walls become thinner and no longer withstand blood pressure. And already during defecation a person notices blood in the toilet, on paper, which is wiped off - this is a bleeding, which is also considered a sign of hemorrhoids.
Manifestations of hemorrhoids
These include manifestations of destruction and changes in the nodes of hemorrhoids - that is, the fall of these nodes, bleeding, thrombosis, swelling of the hemorrhoids.
These nodes are external and internal. Those that are inside, are formed in the rectum in the form of clusters. And also single hemorrhoids. Those that are outside are located 2.5 higher than the anus. The hemorrhoid nodes located on the outside are localized in the anal canal. Sometimes they have thrombi - blood clots that can go by themselves, and can only require medical intervention.
What was called hemorrhoids in the Middle Ages?
In the Middle Ages, hemorrhoids were called the curse of St. Facar, the patron saint of all gardeners. There is even a stone with the same name - the stone of St. Facar, people still converge to it in the hope of recovering from this unpleasant disease. There is a legend about this. Once upon a time, a spirit appeared to Saint Fiakr and informed him that he could receive a lot of land - as much as he liked. But only that land, which he can process from dawn to dusk.
Saint Fiakr (then he was not yet a saint) tried very hard and eventually earned himself so that hemorrhoids appeared from his anal opening - what is now called hemorrhoidal cones is an indispensable sign of external hemorrhoids.
He was very upset, feeling pain and weakness, he sat down on a nearby stone and offered a prayer to God. In this prayer he asked him to get rid of the disease. And now a miracle happened: Saint Fiakr instantly got rid of the knots that fell off on their own. Even today, their footprints are visible on the stone.
To the stone now come the sick from all over the world, those who want to get rid of their unpleasant disease - hemorrhoids. And they say that it helps. Although doctors do not recommend sitting on cold stones and asphalt to those who suffer from hemorrhoids.
