Fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna is rarely met. As a rule, the mechanism of injury, as a rule, becomes an indirect cause of injury - a fall on the unraveled arm or a sharp contraction of the shoulder muscle, in which the fragment of the coronary process is torn off.

Symptoms of a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna
Examination and physical examination
Disturb pain and restriction of flexion in the elbow joint, which is moderately increased in size due to edema and hemorrhage. The palpation of the anterior surface of the humerus is determined by soreness. Active and passive movements in the elbow joint are limited, especially in the direction of flexion. Rotation of the forearm is painless.
Diagnosis of a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna
An important place in the diagnosis of fractures of the coronary process is taken by radiography.

Treatment of a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna
Conservative treatment of a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna
If the displacement is absent or minimal, the patient is given a plaster bandage that does not differ from that in the fracture of the ulnar process, for a period of 2-3 weeks. Assign a course of restorative treatment. You should avoid joint massage and early forced movements.
Surgical treatment of a fracture of the coronoid process of the ulna
With significant dislocations, fragments (which are rare) or blockade of the elbow joint patients are sent to a hospital for surgical treatment. Large fragments are sewn to the mother box with chrome-plated catgut, capron or lavsan. Small fragments blocking movements in the elbow joint are removed. Then immobilization is shown with a permanent gypsum lancing for 2-3 weeks, after that it is removable for 2-3 weeks.
Estimated period of incapacity for work
After a conservative treatment, work capacity is restored in 4-6 weeks. After surgical treatment, labor is allowed after 6-8 weeks.
