Usually the rupture of the articular bag occurs as a result of a specific injury, such as a fall on an elongated arm. Causes pain when driving. Treatment - physiotherapy and in some cases, surgical methods.
The shoulder joint (in contrast to the hip or elbow joint), in fact, is an inherently unstable joint; it can be compared to a golf ball located on a label. To strengthen structural stability, the articular cavity (anatomically shallow) is deepened by the lips, which are elastic fibrous-cartilaginous structures attached along the perimeter of the edge of the articular cavity. This structure can be torn during exercise, especially during throws, or as a result of blunt trauma when a fall or landing on an elongated upper limb occurs.
Diagnosis and symptoms of rupture of the articular shoulder bag
The diagnosis is usually determined by the presence of pain deep in the shoulder during movement, especially during the throwing of the ball. This discomfort can be accompanied by a feeling of painful clicks and a feeling that something "stirs" in the shoulder. First, a thorough physical examination of the shoulder and neck area should be carried out, but it is better to consult a specialist, because in most cases, more accurate diagnostic methods of investigation (for example, MRI with contrast enhancement) are needed for the final verification of the diagnosis.
If the symptoms do not disappear after the physical therapy and the diagnosis is confirmed with MRI, there may be indications for surgical treatment. Usually surgery is performed using arthroscopy.
