Gastrokardialny syndrome (abdominal angina) - a symptom complex, caused by the neural-reflex connection of organs: the upper floor of the abdominal cavity and the cardiac system. Gastrocardial syndrome is not a nosological form, but can be used as a temporary working diagnosis. The question has not been thoroughly studied, but recent research has revealed a clear correlation between the development of this syndrome and direct irritation or solar plexus hypoxia (solaris).

What causes gastrocardial syndrome?

Gastrocardial syndrome is most often observed in atherosclerosis of the aorta with transitions to the mouth, peptic ulcer and stomach tumors, pancreatitis, hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm, especially clearly the clinic is expressed in the defeat of coronary and mesenteric vessels. In the initial stages of the process, a plentiful food intake serves as a provoking factor, but as the disease progresses, the attack develops even with a small amount of food.

How is gastrocardial syndrome manifested?

The attack can be from a few minutes to 3-5 hours. Dull pains in the epigastrium and behind the breastbone, which appear 20-30 minutes after ingestion, are disturbing. Simultaneously, it is noted: belching with air, can be hiccough, palpitation, tachycardia or, conversely, bradycardia, extrasystole, blood pressure may increase, vegetative reaction, dizziness often occur. In severe cases, angina attacks can occur, up to myocardial infarction.

How is gastrocardial syndrome treated?

If the attack is not associated with overeating, apply our diagnostic test: give the patient to drink a teaspoon of drinking water; in conditions of resuscitation - put the probe into the stomach and rinse it with a weak solution of soda. In gastrocardial syndrome, an attack is arrested on the eyes, which can be determined even by the pulse. After arresting the attack, the abdominal pathology comes to the fore: meteorism, constipation, which are followed by profuse fetid diarrhea.
