Pingvecula is slightly yellowish-white deposited over a conjunctiva of directional form, which is located a few millimeters from the limb in the region of the eye gap from the side of the nose or temple. It has no tendency to grow into the cornea. However, it is capable of causing irritation or a cosmetic defect and can be easily removed.

Treatment of pingveculae

Treatment of pingvecula is usually not required, since its growth is very slow or absent. If pingvecula inflames (pingvekulitis), it is necessary to perform local treatment with a short course of corticosteroid drugs of weak action such as fluoromethanol or eye drops (dekelios, maxidex, octandexamethasone, hydrocortisone-PIC)
