There are several basic ways to get rid of warts. Among them, laser therapy, cryodestruction, electrocoagulation, surgical excision. The effectiveness of various methods of getting rid of warts can be from fifty to ninety five percent. The basic principles of the destruction of the human papilloma virus causing warts are based on the destruction of lesions by any of the above methods and immunostimulatory therapy.
How to get rid of warts with laser therapy?
Laser therapy is a relatively new and rather effective way to get rid of warts. The radio wave effect makes it possible to eliminate the affected areas without pain and risk of infection. After the procedure, the tissues heal quickly enough, there are no scars and spots left on the skin. The wart is removed layer by layer, preliminary local anesthesia is performed. After carrying out the laser treatment, it is contraindicated to visit the sauna, sauna, solarium, and also under direct sunlight (two to three weeks). The procedure is not carried out during pregnancy, as well as in severe diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, immunodeficiency, etc.
Electrocoagulation
When carrying out electrocoagulation warts are destroyed by an electrocoagulator under the influence of current. On the area of the affected area, a dry crust forms, which prevents infection and the development of bleeding. Subsequently, the crust itself disappears. To treat the affected area use antiseptic agents, for example, potassium permanganate. Cork can not be wetted and ripped off. After electrocoagulation, there are no traces on the skin. Only if the wart was extensive, there may be a slight stain that will eventually disappear. Contraindications for electrocoagulation: herpes, oncopathology.
Cryodestruction
Cryotherapy is the effect on affected areas of liquid nitrogen. With the soft technique of the procedure, tissue destruction or constriction of the blood vessels and dilatation of the capillaries occur, causing flushing of the damaged area. The method of deep freezing is carried out with the help of an applicator (wooden or with a metal tip), which is fixed on the wart for thirty seconds and eliminates the epithelial cells. To achieve skin hyperemia without destroying the cells, the applicator holds for 10-15 seconds. Before the procedure, the skin is lubricated with a solution of alcohol.
If the warts are large and extensive, scraping with a special sharp spoon or scalp can be performed.
Chemical method
This method of getting rid of warts is used comparatively rarely. It consists in the fact that the neoplasm is treated with acid or alkali. It should be noted that this procedure significantly increases the threat of damage or infection of nearby tissues. To treat warts, it is best to use salicylic acid, which is sold at the pharmacy.
With plantar warts, softening agents are applied before the treatment procedures - soda-soap applications, salicylic acid. The mechanism of action of these agents is associated with the inhibition of the proliferation of keratinocytes and the improvement of their exfoliation. To minimize pain while walking, rubber wounds are fixed near the warts with a band-aid. Every week, warts should be treated with podophylline (contained in the condyllin preparation) for three to five weeks. After four hours, the solution should be washed off.
Pointed warts are smeared with condenin twice a day for three days, then take a break in four days. The general course of treatment should be no more than five weeks. In the treatment of flat warts, applications of a 30% solution of trichloroacetic acid (once every seven days) are applied. Vulgar warts on the arms and legs are excised with a laser (a positive effect is visible after the first session). To get rid of plantar warts, apply liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy).
For the treatment of various types of warts, also use the preparation Solkoderm, apply ointment with the help of an applicator, after cleaning the damaged area with ethanol. If the warts are too dense, the keratinous layer is recommended to be removed. Neoplasms with a circumference of more than ten millimeters are processed only if they are superficial. At the same time, no more than four to five warts can be treated. After a few days, the affected areas dry up, acquire a dark brown hue and look mummified. The procedure is performed by a doctor. The drug contains metal ions and nitrites, which have a destructive effect. If a negative reaction has occurred around the affected area, creams containing glucocorticosteroids or an anesthetic ointment can be used, and damaged areas of the skin should not be rubbed. The scab falls off spontaneously, it can not be ripped off at all, as this can lead to the formation of a scar. While the wound does not heal, it is impossible to be under the open sunlight, ultraviolet radiation. When treating the skin near the eyes, mucous membranes, you should be especially careful. If the product still gets into the eyes or to healthy areas of the skin, you should immediately wash them with water.
For the removal of normal and plantar warts, injections of pyrogenal are administered in dilution with a solution of sodium chloride. With the introduction of pyrogenal, the level of leukocytes in the blood decreases, which subsequently, on the contrary, increases. The permeability of tissues also increases, the development of scar tissue is inhibited, etc. In the treatment of warts, it is possible to use interferons and their inducers, which increase the ability of T-lymphocytes to destroy cells with a changed structure.
How to get rid of warts with the help of alternative means?
Supporters of alternative therapies offer their own ways how to get rid of warts. You can use for this purpose juice of sour apples, onions, garlic. Apply also honey, herbs. To prepare an ointment with acetic acid, it should be mixed with flour and applied to the wart, without touching the surface of healthy skin. However, it must be clearly realized that at home treatment there is always a risk of harming one's health, since all the same, warts are a viral disease that requires professional and qualified treatment of a dermatologist.
