The priority therapeutic factor in providing medical care to patients with gastroneurosis is psychotherapy, which corresponds to the general principles of treating neurotic disorders. Basically, these are personally oriented sessions, individual and group. The goal is to achieve the patient's awareness of the psychological conflict that caused the dyspeptic symptom complex, as well as to rebuild the personal relationships that provoked the development of neurosis, and reorient the patient's attention from the symptoms of gastrointestinal tract diseases to resolving the psychological conflict, primarily with himself.

Gastroenterological medications are used in the complex of therapeutic measures. Their use has a dual purpose - biological (elimination of spastic phenomena - antispasmodics; normalization of juice secretion, metabolic processes - enzymes, antacids; protection of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines to maintain its structure and normalize its work - gastroprotectors); and also - psychotherapeutic (the patient must be sure that he is being treated, especially in the initial stages of treatment).

In the early stages of the disease, this is usually sufficient; in more advanced cases, psychopharmacology (antidepressants and tranquilizers) is included in the treatment regimen.

Sodium tianeptine-based drugs have proven effective in treating gastroneurosis, such as Coaxil, which is an atypical tricyclic antidepressant with energizing action. The active ingredient of the drug is neither a sedative nor a stimulant, but is somewhere in between. It stimulates the reuptake of serotonin by brain cells and the hippocampus, which is involved in regulating emotional responses. It promotes the activation of pyramidal neurons in the hippocampus and normalizes their functions. The patient's mood improves, behavior normalizes, somatic complaints, anxiety and restlessness disappear, and the overall tone of the body increases. As a rule, one tablet (12.5 mg) is prescribed twice or three times a day. This antidepressant does not affect the heart, sleep or memory, and does not weaken attention. It should be dosed only as prescribed by a doctor, since it is a narcotic drug and can cause addiction, withdrawal syndrome and other undesirable consequences.

Antiulcer gastroprotector De-Nol based on bismuth subcitrate can also be included in the drug regimen for the treatment of gastric neurosis. Its ability to form a protective mucous-bicarbonate layer on the surface of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum, improve blood circulation in the vessels of these organs has a beneficial effect on the functioning of these organs and the preservation of the normal structure of their epithelium. In case of painful sour belching, the drug helps to reduce the production of hydrochloric acid by reducing its production and reducing the already secreted acid by combining the active component with pepsin. The daily dose is four tablets, taken twice two at a time or one at a time for four doses. Products containing bismuth are not recommended for more than two months. It is not taken after meals, with antacids and is not recommended to be washed down with milk.

Antispasmodics are used to eliminate neurotic spasms. The most popular antispasmodic No-shpa is also acceptable in this case. It can be prescribed to patients with gastralgia, gastric and intestinal spasms, spastic constipation, combined with cardiological symptoms, one tablet twice or three times a day.

To eliminate insomnia, relieve irritation and emotional arousal, mild sedatives are prescribed, mainly of natural origin - valerian tablets, Novopassit, Glycine, drops - valerian, motherwort, peony, Corvalol. Basically, at a mild and moderate stage of neurosis, they try to get by with mild sedation. These are the drugs of choice.

Novopassit is a multicomponent drug containing active ingredients of plant origin. Guaifenesin (an anxiolytic from the bark of the guaiac tree), extracts of lemon mint, St. John's wort, passionflower, elderberry and hawthorn flowers, as well as its leaves, valerian root calm the nerves, relieve anxiety and restlessness, eliminate gastroenterological and other organic symptoms. The drug can cause increased drowsiness, mild inhibition and decreased concentration.

The standard dose for irritable and agitated patients suffering from hysteria is a teaspoon of drops during the morning, afternoon and evening meals. It can be taken undiluted or diluted with water. The maximum single dose is two teaspoons; if the above-described side effects occur, take half a teaspoon in the morning and afternoon, and a whole teaspoon before bed. When the gastrointestinal symptoms stop bothering you, you can switch to a prophylactic dose, taking one or two teaspoons of Novopassit once, half an hour before the possible action of the stress factor.

Glycine is used for various types of neuroses, accompanied by both emotional arousal and lability. The active substance is aminoacetic acid, physiological to our body, blocks α-adrenoreceptors. It has a stabilizing effect on the nervous system. Prescribed as a whole tablet for resorption in the morning and evening, in case of sleep disorders - only in the evening. If necessary, the frequency of administration can be increased to three times a day, the duration of treatment with Glycine is usually one to two weeks.

For neuroses accompanied by depressive symptoms, drugs with ginseng, eleutherococcus, and echinacea are prescribed. Treatment is always individual, taking into account concomitant pathologies and the tolerance of active components. Vitamins are necessarily included in the scheme - ascorbic acid, group B, regulating the functioning of the nervous system, vitamin and mineral complexes.

Physiotherapy treatment also has a positive effect on the patient's nervous system. In neurology, various types of exposure to electrical impulse currents are used - darsonvalization, electrosleep, electrophoresis, electrical stimulation; hydrotherapy - Charcot's shower, hydromassage; manual and mechanical massage.

Surgical treatment of gastric neurosis is not performed; if neurological symptoms accompany peptic ulcer disease or neoplasms that require surgical intervention, then it is definitely performed, but organic diseases are not considered neuroses.

Folk remedies

To eliminate psycho-emotional agitation, anxiety, sleep disorders, gastrointestinal symptoms arising from nervousness, the recipes of traditional healers can be effective. Moreover, they have long been adopted by pharmacists, on this basis many ready-made medicines have been created that have a softer effect on the nervous system than, for example, tranquilizers.

However, before taking them, you should consult with your doctor. Perhaps psychotherapy sessions, physiotherapy procedures and a course of herbal infusions will be enough.

Traditional healers recommend eating onions and garlic, these vegetables have a valuable composition and, in addition to all other advantages, help stabilize the nervous system. If you already know that gastroenterological symptoms are not caused by organic disorders, then there are no contraindications to their use.

Another simple and interesting tip for relieving increased agitation. Buy valerian tincture at the pharmacy. When you feel irritated, agitated, or want to cry, try inhaling the tincture from a bottle through each nostril in turn. You can practice this method to fall asleep faster. Just remember that valerian is also addictive, so you should practice such calming procedures for no more than two months.

Honey also has the ability to stabilize the nervous system. To prepare a honey drink, dilute two tablespoons of honey in ½ liter of cooled boiled water and drink this portion during the day in three to four doses, dividing into equal parts. After a week, you will already notice an improvement in your condition.

Herbal treatment of neuroses is carried out using valerian roots, fireweed, lemon balm, mint, oregano, sweet clover, and chamomile. These herbs can be brewed separately, added to tea, or used to make herbal mixtures.

For example, fireweed has calming properties, in addition, the infusion of this herb is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. A decoction of fireweed leaves is prepared as follows: take a tablespoon of dry plant material for 200 ml of boiling water, boil over low heat for no more than five minutes, cool for an hour, filter and drink ½ glass before meals in the morning and evening. You can have breakfast or dinner after 20 minutes.

Viburnum berry infusion: the main ingredient in the amount of five tablespoons is mashed to a puree state, brewed with boiling water (700 ml). Leave to infuse for four hours. Strain thoroughly. Take half an hour before each of the four meals.

We make a herbal mixture of five tablespoons of caraway, three tablespoons of chamomile flowers, two tablespoons of crushed valerian root. Brew a tablespoon of the mixture with a glass of boiling water, strain after a third of an hour. The infusion should be drunk once a day at night.

You can drink an infusion of equal parts mint leaves, motherwort, valerian roots, hop cones and rose hips before going to bed. Brew a tablespoon of the mixture with a glass of boiling water. After an hour, strain and drink.

Aromatherapy is used in the treatment of neuroses. Smells help us get rid of stress (lavender, geranium, bergamot, mimosa), calm down (chamomile, jasmine, lemon balm), relax (cedar, rose, sandalwood, basil).

Homeopathy

Homeopathic remedies, which have a gentle regulating effect, can not only relieve neurosis, but also normalize the nervous system and prevent the occurrence of neuroses in the future.

Patients with a clinical picture of hysterical neurosis are prescribed Ignatia, Cocculus indicus and Platinum metallicum. Actaea Racemosa and Lachesis are usually recommended for women with climacteric neuroses, Thuja occidentalis - for hypochondriacs. Other drugs are also used in the treatment of neuroses, but the treatment should be prescribed by a practicing homeopath.

Pharmaceutical complex homeopathic preparations can be recommended as monotherapy, and are also included in the treatment regimen, since they are compatible with almost all medications.

For neuroses accompanied by psychosomatic symptoms, Nervoheel is used - a complex of homeopathic dilutions of several substances of plant, animal and mineral origin, which has an antidepressant effect, and also relieves increased excitability and muscle spasms.

The active substances contained in the medicinal combination have the following properties:

  • Ignatia (St. Ignatius beans) – eliminates depression, inhibition, anxiety, mental instability, muscle spasms;
  • Psorinum-Nosode (scabies nosode) – stabilizes control over emotions, mental reactions; relieves migraine-like, stomach and other pains;
  • Sepia officinalis (the contents of the ink sac of the cuttlefish) – normalizes the process of going to sleep and its quality, reduces the excitability of the nervous system, restores vital activity;
  • Kalium bromatum (potassium bromide) – improves the quality of night rest and the ability to remember; relieves attacks of unreasonable fear, depressed mental state;
  • Acidum phosphoricum (phosphoric acid) – restores the emotional, intellectual, neuropsychic sphere and physical activity;
  • Zincum isovalerianicum (valerian-zinc salt) – relieves hypochondriacal syndrome, convulsions and tremors in the limbs; normalizes sleep.

Contraindicated for patients sensitized to the components. No age restrictions. Pregnant and lactating women should use only on doctor's prescription.

Sublingual tablets are taken at least 20 minutes before breakfast, lunch and dinner, or an hour later. Children aged 0-2 years are given half a tablet; three years and older – a whole tablet. Three times a day, the last time immediately before bedtime no more than 15-20 minutes.

Ignatia Gommakord is used for psychosomatic pathologies. The composition includes two components: plant - beans of Saint Ignatius (Ignatia), and animal - musk of the musk deer (Moschus), in several dilutions.

The combination of these components reduces depression, anxiety, fear, tearfulness, and increases emotional and mental stability. The patient stops having neurotic spasms, pain, nervous tics, and other somatic symptoms. In particular, women stop having neurotic menstrual cycle disorders. The drug has a moderate sedative effect and activates metabolic processes in nerve cells.

Contraindicated for patients sensitized to the components and children under two years of age. Pregnant and lactating women should use only as prescribed by a doctor.

The drops are taken sublingually at least 20 minutes before breakfast, lunch and dinner or an hour later. You can dissolve the recommended number of drops in a spoon of clean water and drink, holding it in your mouth while taking it. Dosage: 2-5 full years - five to seven drops; 6-11 full years - from seven to ten drops; from 12 years - ten drops. The standard course is a month, continuing the intake is possible only after consulting a doctor.

Valeriana Heel is indicated for various neuropsychiatric disorders. The drug does not have a direct sedative effect, but has an indirect effect by connecting the limbic system of the brain, limiting the excitatory stimulus through γ-aminobutyric acid receptors. The pharmacological properties of the drug determine the spectrum of its action:

  • Valeriana offiсinalis (valerian) – has a relaxant effect on both the nervous and vascular systems;
  • Humulus lupulus (common hops) – eliminates increased excitability;
  • Crataegus (hawthorn) – tones the heart muscle, optimizes heart function, expands the lumen of the coronary arteries, has an antihypertensive effect;
  • Hyperiсum perforatum (St. John's wort) - activates metabolism in neurons, tones cerebral vessels, stabilizes blood flow;
  • Melissa officinalis (lemon balm) – increases resistance to stress factors, relieves attacks of overexcitement;
  • Chamomilla reсutita (chamomile) – has a moderate calming effect, strengthens the immune system, relieves swelling and inflammation, normalizes the digestion process;
  • Acidum picrinicum (picric acid) – provides a nootropic effect;
  • Avena sativa (common oats) – promotes adaptation and recovery, strengthens the immune system;
  • Bromides (Kalium bromatum, Ammonium bromatum, Natrium bromatum) – normalize the balance of excitation and depression of the nervous system, have a moderate anticonvulsant effect.

Contraindicated for patients sensitized to the ingredients of the homeopathic complex and children under two years of age. Pregnant and lactating women should use only as prescribed by a doctor. It is used in the same way as the previous drug.

Nutrition for stomach neurosis

A properly organized regimen and optimal diet of the patient play a significant role in successful treatment, which helps to eliminate dyspeptic symptoms and associated unpleasant sensations. A strict diet for gastric neurosis is not followed, the diet should be complete and varied, rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals. However, some restrictions must be observed. Alcohol, fatty foods, canned food, pickles and smoked foods, hot spicy sauces and marinades should be excluded from the diet. You should not rely on high-carbohydrate foods, sweets, sweet carbonated drinks, strong tea, coffee. Give preference to stewed, steamed, boiled dishes from vegetables, dietary meat, fish. It is necessary to include salads of fresh vegetables and fruits in the diet, it is recommended to eat cheeses, raisins, nuts, dried fruits, green vegetables, beef, turkey, herring, mackerel, cod, eggs, fermented milk products, legumes, cereals.

It is recommended to eat food in small portions, slowly, chew well and repeatedly. This will promote the full production of digestive enzymes, from well-digested food the nutrients, vitamins and microelements necessary for strengthening the nervous system and immunity will be better absorbed. It is advisable to eat at the same time, at least five times a day.

Nutritional recommendations may also be individualized depending on the symptoms and severity of the patient's condition.
