To achieve a positive and sustainable result, it is recommended to carry out complex treatment. Most often, it is represented by various medications, as well as physiotherapy procedures. Massage, therapeutic exercise, active-passive gymnastics are required. Positive results are noted with the use of kinesiotaping, special medical correctors and fixators. In some cases, hormonal therapy is used. You can try folk remedies, herbal treatment and homeopathic complexes. Surgical treatment is rarely carried out, mainly in the presence of concomitant pathologies.

Additionally, symptomatic treatment can be used, which is aimed at eliminating the symptoms of the pathology and associated symptoms. For example, with severe pain syndrome, painkillers may be required, such as ketanov, analgin, dexalgin. In case of inflammation, anti-inflammatory drugs of systemic and local action are used.

Exercises for joint hypermobility

When treating hypermobility, a comprehensive physical education method is used. It is recommended to start classes only after consulting with a physical therapy doctor or physiotherapist. It is best to take comprehensive classes under the guidance of a physical therapy instructor. He will develop an individual set of exercises and also recommend exercises to do at home. Exercises included in a comprehensive physical therapy class are the most effective, since they have the ability to deeply affect the body of a sick person, and the affected joint in particular. They are used at all stages of joint treatment.

Indications for the appointment of therapeutic physical training are determined by the objectives and plan of complex treatment at the corresponding stage. Contraindications are rare. If they occur, they are short-term and relative. The main contraindications include acute inflammation, severe pain, and severe general condition.

The technique is individual and is based on the prescribed therapeutic and motor regimen and the nature of the joint lesion. Most often, special exercises are used - in relaxation, active, with the use of auxiliary objects for the affected joints. Lightened starting positions are also used. Some are performed with relief and unloading techniques. At the same time, most special exercises are combined with general developmental physical exercises, which are selected according to the patient's age and regimen. The technique for performing special exercises involves performing along all axes possible in a given joint. Restoration of the normal movement regime is facilitated by previous relaxation, removal of protective muscle tension, which is ensured by the correct position of the affected limb. At late stages of treatment, hypermobility may require the use of special exercises on mechanotherapeutic devices.

Medicines

Medicines should be taken with basic precautions. First of all, it is important to consult a doctor before starting to take them. Secondly, you must strictly follow the treatment regimen, dosage, and frequency of administration prescribed by the doctor. Violation of the treatment regimen can lead to the condition only worsening, and numerous side effects and complications will arise. Most often, various heart and vascular pathologies develop as a side effect.

Most often, symptomatic treatment is carried out, so most drugs are aimed only at reducing symptoms and improving the body's condition. Prescribed based on the results of examination and patient complaints.

In the presence of pain syndrome, it is advisable to prescribe painkillers, for example, ketanol is taken for severe pain syndrome. Prescribe half a tablet (50 mg) 1-2 times a day, depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.

In case of excessive muscle tension, muscle relaxants may be required. Mydocalm has proven itself well, it is prescribed at 150 mg three times a day. The duration of administration is determined by the doctor, since it is individual and depends on many parameters. As the pain syndrome decreases, the dosage should be gradually reduced and the amount of physical exercise should be increased.

In the presence of an inflammatory process, anti-inflammatory drugs are used. For example, nimesulide is prescribed in a packet 3-4 times a day, depending on the general condition and well-being of the patient. The contents of the packet are dissolved in a glass of warm water and drunk in one go. This drug not only relieves inflammation, but also accelerates the restoration of damaged tissues, relieves pain and swelling.

For spastic hypermobility accompanied by pain and spasm, take no-shpa. It is recommended to take one tablet three times a day. If there is no pain, you can take it twice a day.

Digoxin is also prescribed. It is most often used as part of complex therapy. It is a cardiac glycoside that slows the ventricular rate, relaxes muscles, and normalizes the conduction of nerve and muscle impulses. It helps prevent atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, and prevents arrhythmia in patients with concomitant heart disease. It stimulates the vagus nerve, reduces the activity of the sympathetic nervous system by inhibiting the activity of baroreceptors.

The maximum intravenous dose is 500 mg digoxin in 50 ml of 5% glucose solution over half an hour. This dose can be repeated if necessary. In patients with low body weight, elderly age, or in severe condition, the dosage should be reduced. The oral maintenance dose is 62.5 to 500 mg daily. However, the risk of toxic effects with this route of administration is significantly increased. Many experts do not recommend exceeding a daily dose of 250 mg.

Vitamins

With increased joint mobility, it is necessary for the body to receive the entire necessary set of vitamins. You can buy complex vitamins, which include all the vitamins necessary for the body in a daily dosage. At the same time, it is recommended to buy vitamins intended for people with musculoskeletal disorders. Vitamins are selected in accordance with age, individual characteristics of the body. You can use individual vitamins. So, it is recommended to take the following vitamins (the daily dosage is indicated):

  • vitamin PP – 60 mg
  • vitamin H – 150 mg
  • Vitamin C – 500 mg
  • Vitamin A – 2 g
  • Vitamin D – 45 mg
  • Vitamin E – 45 mg
  • vitamin K – 360 mg.

Physiotherapy treatment

In most cases, physiotherapy is part of complex therapy for the treatment of hypermobility. Most often, electric current and ultrasound are used. The effect of electric current is based on the effect on the receptors of the skin, muscles and ligaments, reducing their irritability and conductivity. Ultrasound can penetrate deep into tissues, exerting a therapeutic effect on them. If necessary, infrared radiation, acupuncture, needle therapy, and reflexology are used.

Massage for joint hypermobility

First, stroking is performed along the lymph flow, then squeezing techniques are used. After this, it is advisable to move on to rubbing techniques. In this case, the area of the affected joint is first bypassed. Then, slow rubbing of the joints begins. First, the lateral surface is massaged, then the internal extensor, then the lateral again, after which they move on to the flexor side of the joint. Specific massage techniques are selected by the doctor individually, depending on the clinical picture and the severity of the pathology.

Gymnastics for joint hypermobility

In case of hypermobility, it is recommended to use elements of therapeutic physical training. The dosage of therapeutic gymnastics during therapeutic physical training sessions is moderate. In addition to classes with an instructor, the daily routine includes special exercises that are recommended for independent performance during the day.

Relaxation exercises and active exercises are used as special ones. Exercises with the help of - for affected joints are used. Such exercises are performed from a special starting position, which helps relieve the load on the joint. Protective tension is also relieved from the muscles. Special hatha yoga exercises have proven themselves well. This is a health system that helps not only restore joints. It affects the body in a complex way, helping to bring it to a state of optimal efficiency and energy. Yoga helps to maintain this state. Speaking in the language of medicine, yoga has a preventive effect on the body, and also helps to restore the functional state of the body. Yoga primarily has a positive effect on such systems as the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, respiratory, nervous, gastrointestinal tract, and excretory organs.

The main effect of yoga is realized through the influence of asanas, pranayama, relaxation, concentration of attention. The principle of action of asanas is to influence vital organs and muscle groups, promoting their tension and relaxation. Asanas help to normalize blood circulation.

The breathing block allows you to strengthen and develop the respiratory muscles, prepare the body for hypoxic loads, improve blood circulation, and saturate the blood with oxygen.

Relaxation practices help to relax muscles and the whole body, help relieve tension, and speed up recovery processes.

Concentration of attention allows you to focus on internal and external processes, helps to calm rational activity, and harmonize internal processes.

Surgical treatment

Traditionally, it is treated by means of therapeutic physical training or medication. Surgical methods are used only in cases of extreme necessity, in case of ineffectiveness of traditional treatment. The main indication for surgery is damage to soft tissues (stretching, mechanical trauma). The operation is also performed for frequent synovitis, which is an inflammation of the synovial membrane of the joint capsule. The operation is also performed for displacements, acute rheumatoid diseases, osteoarthritis.
