Treatment of a hematoma on the face should be carried out only after examination by a doctor. When conducting diagnostics, it is necessary to exclude the presence of a craniocerebral injury. The danger of a hematoma on the face is the proximity of this area to the brain. Therefore, it is necessary to consult a doctor when a hematoma appears on the face.
If the formation is large, it may be possible to puncture the hematoma – pump blood out of it.
When a purulent process develops, surgical intervention is performed, an incision is made in the skin, the wound is drained, after which the patient is prescribed antibacterial drugs.
In the case of a long-term course of the disease, when the hematoma does not disappear for quite a long time, repeated puncture with the introduction of penicillin may be performed.
A small hematoma can be treated with ice. To do this, immediately after the injury, apply cold to the affected area and hold it for twenty to thirty minutes. After an hour or an hour and a half, the procedure should be repeated. The narrowing of blood vessels under the influence of cold helps less blood penetrate under the skin.
Treatment of a hematoma on the face with small sizes of the formation can be carried out with the help of ointments and creams, which include, for example, bodyaga. Cream containing vitamin K will also help to get rid of traces of hematoma faster. Such products should be used two or three times a day, following the instructions for use.
If, as a hematoma develops on the face, it does not change its color, swells significantly and takes on a red tint, it is possible that the tissue is infected, which requires immediate medical attention.
Treatment of hematoma on the lip
Treatment of a hematoma on the lip should begin with treating the damaged area with an ice compress. The procedure should be repeated approximately every half hour to an hour, without allowing a large amount of blood to penetrate under the skin.
Preparations containing bodyagi also have a positive effect in the treatment of hematoma on the lip. Such products are produced in the form of a gel or powder. Bodyagi powder, which can be purchased at a pharmacy, is used to prepare a suspension, which is then applied to the affected area. Since applying bodyagi to the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth is not recommended, it is advisable to avoid getting the drug in the mouth, carefully treating only the affected area of the lip. Physiotherapy procedures can also be performed to eliminate the hematoma. If a purulent process develops, surgical intervention is required, since in such cases there is a risk of developing calcification and disruption of the functioning of the lips.
Large hematomas that do not resolve over a long period of time are treated by performing a puncture, after which the affected area is treated with antibacterial agents.
There are also folk methods for treating a hematoma on the lip. For example, a cabbage leaf. It is applied to the lip in the area of the hematoma and secured with a plaster on top. This procedure should be done twice a day.
Honey with aloe also helps to dissolve hematomas. To do this, crushed aloe leaves are mixed with honey and the resulting mixture is applied to the affected area. Contraindications to the use of such a mixture are allergic reactions to honey or aloe. A mixture of wormwood, honey and castor oil can also be used to treat a hematoma on the lip. These ingredients should be mixed in equal proportions and applied to the hematoma for fifteen to twenty minutes twice a day. To eliminate traces of a hematoma on the lip, you can use potato starch. To do this, the starch is diluted with water until a paste forms, after which it is applied to the affected area.
Treatment of hematoma under the eye
Treatment of a hematoma under the eye should, if possible, begin immediately after the injury, by applying ice or some cold object to the injured area for twenty to thirty minutes. Narrowing of blood vessels under the influence of cold prevents further spread of the hematoma.
A large hematoma formed on the face can affect the neck, back, and head. In such cases, you should seek medical help to prevent the development of negative consequences.
Treatment of hematoma on the forehead
To provide first aid for a hematoma on the forehead, it is recommended to apply ice to the damaged area. To avoid frostbite, the procedure should not last more than fifteen to twenty minutes.
Treatment of a forehead hematoma should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor. First of all, it is necessary to conduct a diagnostic examination to exclude brain injury, especially with large hematomas and the presence of concomitant adverse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness.
For small hematomas, you can try a remedy such as potato starch. To do this, dilute the starch with water to form a paste and apply it to the forehead several times a day for twenty to thirty minutes. For the same purpose, you can use a cabbage leaf, also applying it to the damaged area.
Medicinal treatment of a forehead hematoma also involves the use of absorbable ointments or gels. For example, ointments with arnica or bodyaga.
Treatment of hematoma on the head
Treatment of a hematoma on the head usually requires surgical intervention. An intracranial hematoma occurs when a blood vessel ruptures in or outside the brain. When an intracranial hematoma forms, it puts pressure on the brain, which poses a serious health hazard and requires immediate treatment. Symptoms of an intracranial hematoma may not appear immediately, so if you have a head injury, you should immediately contact a doctor for diagnosis. Treatment of an intracranial hematoma can be carried out by pumping out fluid if the blood does not clot. In severe cases, the hematoma is removed by trepanation of the skull. Some types of head hematomas, such as subdural hematomas, do not require removal if there are no pronounced symptoms and they are small in size, but the final decision on the advisability of surgical intervention can only be made by a qualified specialist based on a comprehensive examination.
Treatment of eyelid hematoma
Treatment of eyelid hematoma in the first few hours after injury includes treating the affected area with ice. Applying cold helps to constrict blood vessels, which in turn prevents the hematoma from increasing in size. If a hematoma forms on the eyelid, you should undergo a medical examination to ensure that there is no visual impairment or brain injury.
To dissolve the hematoma, you can use the "Rescuer" cream. This product contains milk lipids, sea buckthorn and lavender oil, beeswax and other components that promote the regeneration of damaged tissues and have an analgesic effect.
Before using the ointment, the damaged area must be washed and wiped dry. Then the required amount of ointment is applied to the area of hematoma formation and covered with a plaster. The use of the ointment is contraindicated in case of allergy to its components.
Treatment of tongue hematoma
Treatment of a tongue hematoma that occurs after an injury depends on the size of the formation. For small hematomas, you can rinse your mouth with antiseptics to speed up the process of resorption of the hematoma. For this purpose, you can use medications, as well as chamomile or calendula. During the treatment of a tongue hematoma, you should refrain from drinking alcohol and nicotine, as this has a negative effect on the healing of the hematoma and slows down the process of its resorption.
If a large hematoma appears on the tongue, a doctor's intervention is required to pump out the blood and treat the affected area. Without timely treatment, a purulent process may develop, which will significantly complicate further treatment. Signs of suppuration may include a temperature reaction of the body, an increase in submandibular lymph nodes, as well as a general deterioration in the condition.
If a hematoma on the tongue is not the result of trauma, it may indicate serious problems associated with low platelet counts and requires immediate medical attention.
