When the gastric mucosa is inflamed, the lion's share of the success of its treatment is attributed to diet and medications, but herbal medicine is not the last in this list. Each representative of the flora has its own chemical composition, on which the effect on the body depends, therefore herbs for gastritis depend on the characteristics and type of disease.

Decoctions for gastritis with high acidity

Before using herbs, you need to be sure of the acidity of the stomach, otherwise, instead of treatment, you can get a serious complication and exacerbation of the disease. Excessive secretion of digestive secretion and inflammation of the mucous membrane requires neutralization of hydrochloric acid, protection of the inner wall of the organ by enveloping and tightening the film, compaction of the surface layer and reduction of permeability, anti-inflammatory and anesthetic effect. Knowing the problem, you can select herbs with similar characteristics. What kind of plants are these? There are many of them, the list includes aloe, yarrow, St. John's wort, linden, mint, licorice. The most popular recipes for herbal decoctions are as follows:

  • Chamomile decoction for gastritis is a universal treatment for both chronic disease and exacerbations. The highest concentration of useful substances is found in the flower: coumarins, flavonoids, a number of important organic acids, phytosterol, vitamins, tannins, bitterness, carotenes, polysaccharide compounds, essential oil. Thanks to them, the plant has antibacterial, analgesic, antispasmodic, sedative effects. It is also a mild stimulant of the secretion of the digestive glands.

It is prepared as follows: 4 tablespoons of raw material are poured with one and a half glasses of boiling water and brought to readiness in a water bath for another 30-40 minutes. After cooling and straining, drink 100 ml before meals;

  • dill decoction for gastritis - a well-known aromatic seasoning can help with diseases of the digestive system due to its valuable composition: vitamins PP, A, C, E, group B; minerals: calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium and others. It contains fats, proteins, carbohydrates, phytoncides, bioflavonoids, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. It kills pathogenic microflora of the stomach, eliminates flatulence, spasms, normalizes digestive processes, has a depressing effect on the secretory glands that produce hydrochloric acid.

Most often, the seeds of the plant are used for the decoction: a dessert spoon is combined with a glass of boiling water, kept on low heat for 10 minutes, infused for some time, taken a tablespoon 4 times a day;

  • rice broth for gastritis - the grain's fiber creates a kind of protective film on the mucous surface. It contains 80% complex carbohydrates, and the starch in its composition removes slags, toxins and other dangerous substances from the body. At the same time, it can lead to constipation. There are different types of rice, but for gastritis it is best to use white peeled rice.

The decoction is made from two spoons of cereal and a glass of water. Take half a glass before meals;

  • Potato broth for gastritis - reduces acidity, promotes healing of wounds and damage inside the organ. Before cooking, the tubers are not peeled, but washed well in water. More useful properties will be preserved in it if you throw it into boiling water, no need to salt. After the potatoes are ready, the broth is poured into a container in which it is stored. Potato broth for gastritis is drunk on an empty stomach. This recipe is not suitable for patients with diabetes.

Decoctions for atrophic gastritis

This type of gastritis is characterized by the disappearance of parietal cells of the stomach tissues responsible for the secretion of hydrochloric acid. In this case, the mucous membrane of the organ becomes thin, unable to protect it from the harmful effects of pathogenic microorganisms, absorb and assimilate useful components. Most often, this type occurs against the background of low acidity. This is the most dangerous type of pathology for health, and sometimes life. The purpose of using herbs is to restore the mucous membrane, stimulate the production of gastric acid. The following decoctions meet these requirements:

  • rosehip decoction for gastritis - contains an abundance of biologically active substances: vitamins E, C, PP, K, group B, phosphorus, manganese, iron, potassium, calcium, glucose, fructose, pectins, carotenes, citric, malic, arachidic, linoleic and other acids, flavonoids, oil esters.

When preparing a decoction, it is important to preserve all the usefulness that is in it. To do this, crush the berries, take 2 tablespoons of fruit per glass of hot water and boil for 5 minutes. Long boiling will reduce the healing effect of the drink. Drink it warm before meals. It will increase acidity, normalize the functions of the gastrointestinal tract, speed up metabolism, healing of the mucous membrane, provide the nutrients necessary for life;

  • Plantain decoction for gastritis - has an antispasmodic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect. Increases, normalizes and regulates gastric secretion.

After boiling, the decoction is brought to readiness in a steam bath for 30 minutes, the required proportions are 2 tablespoons of dry or 3 chopped fresh leaves per 250 ml of water.

Universal herbal decoctions for gastritis

There are medicinal plants that are neutral with respect to the pH of the stomach, but are capable of relieving inflammatory processes in the organ, saturating it with components necessary for digestion, strengthening the immune system, and restoring metabolic functions:

  • oat broth for gastritis - effective both for chronic disease and in acute periods. Vegetable proteins of oat broth restore damaged mucous membranes well, strengthen it, remove excess fluid and toxins, and prevent the pathology from progressing to a more severe stage - an ulcer.

The decoction is prepared as follows: washed and dried grains are ground into flour, half a glass of which is mixed in 0.5 liters of water, after boiling it is kept for another 40 minutes on minimum heat. Its consistency resembles jelly. Before use, the volume is brought to the initial one with boiled water and divided into 3 doses.

For those who do not want to mess with grains, you can use oat flakes, they are known to everyone under the name "Hercules". In addition to porridge in the morning, you can make a decoction, breaking the proportions in the direction of increasing the liquid;

  • Flax seed decoction for gastritis - rich in fatty acids, proteins, selenium, fiber, polysaccharides, many vitamins. Flax seed decoction coats the inner wall of the stomach, protecting it from coarse food particles, helps with its digestion, absorption, evacuation to subsequent sections of the digestive tract, removal of toxins and waste, accelerates the renewal of mucous cells.

A decoction for the day is made from 3 tablespoons of seeds and 300 ml of boiling water. It can be prepared in a thermos, leaving the composition overnight. After infusion, take warm 20 minutes before meals three times a day.
