Chinese acupressure can help relieve constipation in men and women of all ages, in this faithfully supporters of this method. According to the American National Center for Information Digestive Information on Diseases, constipation is rarely dangerous, but if left untreated, it can cause complications. These include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or discharge from the anus, anal prolapse — prolapse of the intestinal mucosa through the anus — and a delayed feces in the large intestine. Biologically active energy points of your body, which you can stimulate yourself, will help you regulate the bowels and cope with constipation.
What is acupressure?
This massage is carried out according to the same method as acupuncture, but the skin is not damaged or punctured.
In the acupressure, a system of 365 points of pressure on points (there are more than 700) is practiced along the 12-energy meridians of our body, used in traditional Chinese medicine. Acupressure called TCM. Supporters of TCM believe that stimulating these points using finger pressure or acupuncture needles can restore the balance of whole body health. Several points are traditionally stimulated to relieve constipation. Consult with your doctor before starting this new procedure - and you can get down to business.
How it works
Eastern medicine doctors can balance the flow of energy by tapping the appropriate points. They pay attention to the work of the liver and the concept of the arrangement of meridians to assist with constipation. While the acupressure of Chinese experts helps to cope with constipation, Western doctors refer to it as improving the work of the entire digestive system.
Working on these points can help you get quick results. You do not have to use all 700 points. Using only one or two of them whenever you have free time can be effective for treating constipation.
Applying finger pressure to certain points can stimulate the natural balance of energy to alleviate common digestive problems, says Michael Reed Gach, author of Powerful Acupressure Points.
Constipation
Point Yang Gui Xue is in the gap between the thumb and forefinger. Pressure on it can stimulate intestinal peristalsis, or intestinal contractions. You can hold this point for two minutes to stimulate your digestive tract or to relieve tension or insomnia. Avoid this point if you are pregnant, as it can cause exertions.
Constipation and hemorrhoids
This point is located on both elbows, at the end of the fold, which is formed when the arm is bent so that it is perpendicular to the ground. This point should be stimulated by circular movements of the thumb and forefinger, which were recognized as the most effective in stimulating this point. However, it can also be stimulated with all the fingers or gentle taps. Stimulation - from about 20 to 30 seconds from 3 to 4 times, twice a day, to get the maximum benefit from this procedure.
Stimulation of this point helps the work of the stomach, triggers the mechanism necessary for an effective process of digestion and waste disposal. At the same time, constipation is immediately removed and hemorrhoid symptoms are relieved.
Pregnant women should look for alternative treatments for constipation, since applying acupressure to certain points can lead to a delay in uterine contractions, and can cause harm to the fetus.

To find a diarrhea relief point, move your fingers about an inch below the navel. The pressure on her is believed to set the tone for the digestive organs and the abdominal muscles, forcing them to work in a balanced way to relieve the cramps associated with diarrhea. Stimulation of this point, however, differs from other points. This point should be stimulated with the index finger, middle finger and ring finger. Pressure must be maintained for 30 seconds.
Pressure can either be applied through constant pressure or in a circular motion with gentle pressure on the point. Stimulation of this point has a profound effect on the overall functioning of the digestive system. It relieves abdominal cramps, constipation and even reduces flatulence.
Nausea
The Three Miles Point is located on a leg about the width of the palm below the patella. Considered the mother of the digestive system, it can be used to alleviate nausea and balance effective digestion and elimination of food. You can also use this point to aid nutrient absorption and weight loss.

A point on the hand can also help in relieving heartburn.

Acupressure: rules for
Before you perform acupressure, sit back and relax. Let nothing distract you from this pleasant and useful process. First you need to rub your hands. Let them be warm. And at the same time rubbing the hands will improve their blood circulation. Then you need to find the point that you need, and start working with it. At the point you need to press not much. So that the pressure was perpendicular to the skin surface. No need to push sharply to bruises. If the point is found correctly, the bruise will not, besides, there will be pain in the area of pressure or a feeling of aches.
What are the pressures
- In the form of continuous touch or stroking
- In the form of pressing the whole weight of the finger
- In the form of deep indentation - when a depression is formed on the skin
- In the form of rotation (clockwise)
- In the form of vibration
But whatever the movement of the fingers, they must be continuous.
Massage can also be soothing or toning. When the massage is soothing, it is necessary to press on the point of impact constantly, movements at the same time are smooth and slow, they gradually increase. As a rule, with a soothing massage, pressure on a point is repeated 3-4 times, in a circle, the finger is not removed from the point. The procedure takes about 5 minutes.
With a toning massage, on the contrary, there can be no talk about smoothness. The point is pressed sharply, but not to bruises, as mentioned above. The duration of pressing on the point is less than with a soothing massage - a maximum of 1 minute. Up to 3 sessions per week. The course can be repeated as necessary.
With constipation, which are called atonic, they carry out a tonic massage to tone up the bowels. Pressure should be with vibration. For constipation, called spastic, a soothing massage is performed to soothe bowel cramps and relieve abdominal pain. The pressure should be rotational, clockwise, slow, no more than 5 minutes in continuation
Be careful!
When you perform a chiseled massage, it can be combined with other methods of treating constipation and improving general well-being, but in no case use laxatives at the time of this treatment, so as not to harm the body.
