One of the important conditions for a successful outcome of surgical treatment of joint pathology is minimal traumatic surgery. This forced many orthopedic trauma specialists to look for ways to reduce traumatism due to reduced arthrotomic access, so doctors came to arthroscopy. However, insufficient access significantly limited the ability to audit the joint and perform the necessary techniques. This led to an increase in the number of intraoperative errors. In addition, the use of traditional tools in extremely small arthrotomic incisions forces the surgeon to perform intraarticular manipulations almost blindly, which often leads to technical errors and significant damage to intraarticular formations.
Reduction of traumatism of certain operations on the knee joint can be achieved by providing optimal conditions for examining the joint cavity in the process of intra-articular operations. One of the ways to ensure such conditions is the use of modern endoscopic equipment for knee and other joint operations, as well as the improvement of special instruments for arthroscopic surgery: scissors, clamps for grasping free bodies, biopsy forceps, joint flushing tubes,
With today's level of development of traumatology and orthopedics, surgical arthroscopy has certain advantages. One of the main - high diagnostic capabilities of arthroscopy, allowing in full scope to visually inspect all parts of the joint and determine the morphological changes of intraarticular formations.
Accordingly, the information obtained is performed by arthroscopy. The probability of making tactical and technical errors in the treatment of joint pathology is reduced.
