It is believed that psoriasis cannot be cured completely. Therefore, medical specialists do everything possible to alleviate the symptoms of the disease as much as possible and speed up the onset of remission. Sanatorium and resort treatment of psoriasis helps to increase the effectiveness of traditional treatment. Long-term observations have confirmed that it is in sanatoriums that patients achieve stable periods of attenuation of the psoriatic process, since such medical institutions use specific rehabilitation methods.
Required documents
To undergo a course of psoriasis therapy in a sanatorium, you need to have a sanatorium card with you, or, alternatively, a doctor's extract from your medical history.
It is on the basis of the listed documents that the health resort’s medical staff will be able to prescribe the complex of treatment procedures that is right for you.
In some sanatoriums you can get a card on site, but you will have to pay extra for it.
What is a health resort card? It is a medical document confirming the diagnosis, which is attached to the voucher to a specific health resort. This document is issued by your attending or local doctor, or in a private medical institution, or directly at the health resort. Usually, the SCC contains the following data:
- conclusion of a general practitioner;
- conclusion of your attending physician;
- fluorography result;
- electrocardiogram with decoding;
- results of a general blood and urine test;
- Gynecologist's report (for women).
Typically, the SCC is filled out and signed by a doctor, after which it is certified by the head physician or head of the hospital outpatient department.
Before applying for a SCC, it is important to remember that its validity period is limited to 2 months.
Additionally, before undergoing spa treatment for psoriasis, you should take your passport and travel voucher with you. Some spas also require an insurance policy.

Indications for spa treatment are considered to be inpatient, regressive stages and periods of remission:

If the patient is diagnosed with mild psoriasis, then the treatment duration can be reduced to 14 days. The recommended terms are the period during which visible results can be achieved and consolidated.
Sanatorium and resort treatment of psoriasis with therapeutic mud is considered one of the most thoughtful and successful methods. As a rule, patients note significant relief of the condition and elimination of unpleasant manifestations of the disease after 2-3 sessions. The result obtained after a full course of treatment lasts at least six months or a year.
Reviews of psoriasis treatment in sanatoriums
What methods prevail in spa treatment of psoriasis? The most traditional procedures include laser and reflexology, mud therapy and balneotherapy, and the therapeutic use of mineral waters.
All the above sanatorium options are unique – both in terms of treatment features and climate. Therefore, it will not be possible to single out any one sanatorium among all of them and award it the title of the best.
Each medical institution uses the specifics of local natural resources for the treatment of psoriasis:
- lake or sea salts and mud;
- clean air;
- mineral waters;
- salt caves;
- open natural sources.
Sanatoriums treat psoriasis using modern equipment and the latest techniques. Of course, it is better to choose a sanatorium whose specialists actively monitor the development of medicine and try to use innovations in treatment programs.
The comfort of living, the infrastructure of the hospital and the qualifications of the service personnel also play a significant role in choosing a sanatorium.
Sanatorium and resort treatment of psoriasis, according to numerous positive reviews, demonstrates effectiveness that is many times greater than the results after conventional treatment with medications.
