Adenoids are the excessive growth of the nasopharyngeal (pharyngeal) tonsil, which appears as a result of chronic inflammation. It is necessary to treat adenoids, since the ailment causes its "owner" a lot of inconvenience, such as: difficulty breathing, restless sleep, purulent-mucous discharge from the nasal cavity, etc. Therefore, in order to restore normal breathing, doctors sometimes recommend removing adenoids.
There is no need to rush into surgery, because the treatments for adenoids are very diverse and effective. These include physiotherapy, laser therapy, electrotherapy (electrophoresis, UHF, UHF, magnetic therapy), cryotherapy, and phytotherapy.
Adenoid Treatments with Physiotherapy
They are used in combination with drug and vitamin therapy: antihistamines (claritin, pipolfen, diazolin, tavegil, etc.), vasoconstrictors (Xylen, Galazolin, Vibrocil, etc.), antibacterial drops (bioparox, protargol, albucid), multivitamins (Jungle, Vitrum, Multi-Tabs, etc.), immunostimulants (Broncho-munal).
Treatment of adenoids using electrophoresis involves the introduction of various medicinal solutions into the patient's nasal cavity, which help relieve inflammation and reduce swelling. Such agents include potassium iodide, calcium chloride, diphenhydramine, etc.
Ultra-high-frequency magnetic fields (UHF) are used in cases where there is an exacerbation of the inflammatory process in the nasal cavity. Exposure to currents allows to reduce the degree of inflammation, relieving the patient of pain and discomfort in swallowing and breathing.
Treatment of adenoids by means of extremely high-frequency therapy is a procedure that has virtually no contraindications. This method involves the impact of electromagnetic extremely high-frequency waves on the body. The waves affect certain points of the human body, which “remind” the body of the times when it was completely healthy.
Magnetotherapy is another means of treating adenoids, allowing to get rid of the disease. Magnetotherapy therapy consists of using low-frequency and high-frequency alternating or constant magnetic field. As a result, electric currents arise, under the influence of which the physical and chemical properties of cells of various tissues change. In addition, magnetotherapy causes acceleration of metabolic processes in the body. Local exposure to a magnetic field leads to an improvement in the condition of the vascular and nervous system, an increase in the body's defenses.
Cryotherapy is a means of treating adenoids using express freezing. Thanks to cryotherapy, there is no prolonged exposure to negative temperatures on adenoids, the procedure lasts only 6-120 seconds. The results of therapy using this method are not long in coming - after the end of the procedure, the patient feels a decrease in pain, the bad smell from the mouth associated with the course of the disease disappears, and the adenoids themselves decrease in size and with each subsequent session (5-10) of cryotherapy completely return to their previous size. Cryotherapy is an absolutely painless means of treating adenoids, which does not affect the general condition of the body.
Laser treatment of adenoids
This is a modern, effective, painless way to combat the disease. The doctor uses a medical laser to affect the inflamed tonsils, thereby providing an anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect, and also returns the adenoids to normal size and restores their structure. Laser treatment of adenoids allows the patient to begin to breathe freely, since the inflammatory focus is completely eliminated. In addition, after laser therapy, the adenoids do not disappear, but continue to exist and perform their functional duties.
Traditional treatment of adenoids
A wonderful non-drug way to get rid of the disease. For example, to gargle, use a mixture of herbs chamomile and linden; chopped onion with honey.
For drinking the herbal mixture:
- Icelandic moss and thyme;
- raspberry leaves, sage leaves, linden flowers, peppermint with honey;
- oregano herb, willow bark, linden flowers, anise fruits.
For nasal instillation: anise tincture, calendula tincture.
For rubbing: rub fir oil into the chest and collar area. Massage your feet with oil at least 4 times a day.
For inhalation: pine buds. Pour 20 grams of crushed pine buds with a glass of boiling water. Boil for 10 minutes in a water bath, leave for 30 minutes. Can be used without straining.
Traditional treatment of adenoids with juices is another very effective method of getting rid of the disease.
- Freshly squeezed juice from aloe leaves is mixed with the same amount of water. It is used for gargling and instillation.
- 10 tablespoons of carrot juice are mixed with 6 tablespoons of spinach and this mixture is taken on an empty stomach every day.
- The juice from greater celandine is instilled at least three drops per day.
- Beetroot juice is instilled three times a day, 4 drops at a time. Cotton swabs are moistened with this juice and put into the nose.
For the prevention and treatment of adenoids, breathing exercises are recommended.
Exercises with inflating balloons, gurgling water through a tube, etc., as well as swimming in a pool, bathing in a lake or river - all this helps restore nasal breathing and is aimed at increasing the body's defenses.
Hardening of the body plays a role in the general therapy of adenoids. Foot baths, starting at room temperature, gradually reducing it by one degree, increasing the time of taking a bath. Active games are desirable during a three-hour walk, regardless of the weather.
Before prescribing any alternative treatment for adenoids, you should definitely consult a specialist.
