Rhinitis is divided into acute, chronic and vasomotor. Acute rhinitis (acute rhinitis) is an acute inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. Chronic rhinitis (chronic rhinitis) is a chronic inflammation (non-infectious dystrophic process) of the nasal mucosa. Vasomotor rhinitis is a common disease of the body with a predominant local manifestation of pathology in the nasal cavity in the form of paroxysmal sneezing, runny nose and difficulty in nasal breathing.
These diseases are treated in outpatient and outpatient settings and at home by conservative methods. Physiotherapy in rhinitis is based on the use of light therapy (ultraviolet and laser irradiation of nasal passages) and UHF therapy of the nasal region.
Ultraviolet irradiation of the nasal mucosa is indicated for acute rhinitis and exacerbation of chronic rhinitis with a runny nose. For these purposes, the light-therapy apparatus ON-7 (formerly UVN, the ultraviolet group irradiator for the nasopharynx four-tube) and "BOP-4" (a bactericidal irradiator portable, one tube, formerly OKUF-5M) are used - sources of integral ultraviolet radiation (length waves 235 - 365 nm, from the shortwave to the long-wave spectrum of the ultraviolet part of the optical spectrum of the EMR).
UFO of the nasal mucosa in patients with these forms of rhinitis is carried out for 2 - 3 days, once a day in the morning. The time of action in each nasal passage is 0.5-2 min.
UHF-therapy
UHF-therapy of the nasal area is performed with all forms of rhinitis with the help of UHF-30, UHF-66, Undaterm, or Minitherm only in the athermal mode of exposure (output power of the apparatus when exposed to no more than 15 W). The course of treatment for acute rhinitis is recommended not more than 3 daily procedures, with chronic and vasomotor rhinitis - 5 - 7 procedures daily UHF exposure, which are performed once a day in the morning.
Laser Therapy
If the procedure of UFO and ultrasound therapy, as a rule, is carried out in the physiotherapy room of the polyclinic, then laser (magnetolaser) treatment procedures for various forms of rhinitis can be performed in the workplace and at home.
For this purpose, devices that generate radiation from the near infrared part of the optical spectrum (wavelength 0.8 - 0.9 μm) are used, in a continuous or pulsed mode of generation of this radiation. It is desirable to carry out the procedures with the help of devices whose emitters have an area of influence with a contact technique of about 1 cm 2. There is no significant difference in the methods of laser (magnetolaser) therapy of certain forms of rhinitis.
Technique of exposure is contact, stable.
Fields of influence: on the right and on the left one field on the area of the wings of the nose. APM NLI 5 - 50 mW / cm 2. Induction of the magnetic nozzle 20 - 40 mT.
Frequency of radiation modulation: in the presence of a runny nose, the first 1 - 2 procedures are performed at a frequency of 80 Hz, all subsequent procedures before the completion of the course of exposure - at a frequency of 10 Hz.
Time of action on one field is 5 minutes. Duration of treatment: in acute rhinitis - 3 - 5 daily procedures (the first two days may be performed 2 times a day at intervals of 4-6 hours), with chronic and vasomotor rhinitis - 7 - 10 procedures daily 1 time per day in the morning (up to 12 hours).
Apparatus "Azor-IC"
The experience of physiotherapists shows that the use of the Azor-IC apparatus for various forms of rhinitis with the help of the Azor-IK apparatus is quite effective, especially for self-treatment by the patient under various conditions, as directed and under the supervision of the attending physician.
Technique of exposure is contact, stable.
Fields of influence: on the right and on the left one field on the area of the wings of the nose. In the presence of a runny nose, the first 3 to 5 procedures are performed at a frequency of 80 Hz, all subsequent - at a frequency of 10 Hz.
Time of action on one field is 15 minutes. Duration of treatment: in acute rhinitis - 3 - 5 daily procedures (the first two days it is possible to perform procedures 2 times a day at intervals of 4 to 6 hours), with chronic and vasomotor rhinitis - 7 to 10 procedures daily 1 time per day in the morning (up to 12 hours).
