Fruits are healthy and tasty sources of vitamins and minerals. They contain nutrients that, if consumed in excess, are harmful to the body. Overeating fruit can lead to the following reactions:
- An increase in the volume of the stomach, which leads to regular overeating of other foods.
- Allergic reactions due to oversaturation of the body with vitamins and other substances contained in fruits.
- Increased levels of triglyceride and fat in the blood.
- Exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases.
- Increased blood sugar.
In order for fruits to bring maximum benefit, they should be eaten in the first half of the day and no more than 300-500 g at a time. The daily volume should not exceed 1 kg. Fruits are not recommended to be combined with alcohol or consumed simultaneously with sweets or other products that are rich in carbohydrates.
Overeating apples
Apples are not only tasty, but also very healthy fruits that have a beneficial effect on the body. They are 80% water, contain vitamins B, A, E, P. The fruit also contains carotene, calcium, potassium, sodium, about 0.6% fiber, pectin, starch, organic acids and other micro and macro elements.
But despite all the useful properties, the abuse of apples is dangerous for the body. Excessive consumption of fruit leads to the following problems:
- Indigestion.
- Exacerbation of chronic gastrointestinal diseases, colitis, gastritis
- Red varieties have a negative impact on the cardiovascular system.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Diarrhea.
- Allergic reactions.
It should also be taken into account that apples are often treated with chemicals that promote their rapid growth and long-term storage. Because of this, the product loses some of its beneficial properties and, if overeaten, can cause poisoning of the body.
Overeating citrus fruits
One of the common causes of allergic rashes on the body, especially during the winter holidays, is the abuse of citrus fruits. Excessive consumption of aromatic fruits causes a reaction of the immune system, which manifests itself in the following symptoms:
- Red rash on the arms, face, stomach and back.
- Inflammation and itching of the rash.
- Swelling of the extremities.
- Allergic rhinitis and sneezing.
- Swelling of the mucous membrane of the tongue, lips and nose.
- Increased tearing of the eyes.
- Attacks of nausea and vomiting.
- Stomach pain.
- Dizziness.
- Lowering blood pressure.
Unpleasant symptoms can be caused by both the fruit itself and the chemicals it is treated with. For active growth, long-term storage and prevention of citrus rotting, I use several chemicals.
For example, if fruits are treated with diphenyl, then when washed with hot water, an oily film appears on them. Those who like to chew the peel of an orange or tangerine can be poisoned by this substance. To combat pests, a fungicide is used that penetrates the pulp of the fruit and accumulates in the body. Gluttony of such citrus fruits is dangerous for the body.
When the first symptoms of an allergic reaction appear, it is necessary to take antihistamines and enterosorbents. This combination of medications will relieve painful symptoms and remove harmful substances from the body.
Overeating lemon
One of the most vitamin-rich and healthy citrus fruits is lemon. The fruit contains a large amount of ascorbic acid, which supports the protective properties of the immune system and accelerates the recovery process from colds. It also contains folic acid, vitamins B, A, E, pectin and other microelements.
It is precisely attempts to strengthen the immune system with this citrus that very often lead to overeating it. Let's consider why excessive consumption of lemon is dangerous and what side effects may arise from it:
- Citric acid irritates the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines. The fruit is not recommended for people with gastrointestinal diseases.
- Sour taste increases the acidity of gastric juice and enhances its secretion, which negatively affects the condition of the pancreas.
- May cause heartburn, cramps and abdominal pain.
- Lemon juice has a negative effect on the condition of tooth enamel, damaging it.
- It irritates wounds and increases inflammation, which slows down the healing process.
- The fruit stimulates liver cleansing, so people with exacerbation of pancreatitis and other inflammatory liver lesions should consume it with special caution.
- Lemon is a powerful allergen that can cause both skin rashes and severe anaphylactic reactions.
- Eating too many lemons can increase blood pressure, which is dangerous for people with hypertension.
Also, when using this citrus fruit, it should be taken into account that it is contraindicated even in normal dosage for children under three years of age, pregnant and lactating women.
Overeating tangerines
Another aromatic and vitamin-rich citrus fruit is the tangerine. The fruit has a rich composition of biologically active substances that have a beneficial effect on the body. But the abuse of tangerines, that is, their uncontrolled consumption, is dangerous and can cause allergic reactions. When choosing a fruit, you should take into account that the richer its color, the more allergenic it is.
Overeating tangerines is accompanied by the following symptoms:
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, burning.
- Heartburn.
- Increased gas formation.
- Impaired kidney function and formation of stones.
- Increased irritability.
- Sleep disorders.
The main component of tangerines is vitamin C. About 100 g of the fruit contains 44 mg of ascorbic acid. At the same time, the body's daily requirement for this microelement is 60 mg. That is, to saturate the body with vitamin, you need to eat no more than 140 g of tangerines. When eating more fruit, the body is oversaturated with vitamins, which negatively affects well-being.

Bananas have become an integral part of our diet, although they are considered exotic fruits. Their sweet taste and delicate aroma allow them to be used as a full-fledged dessert substitute. The fruit contains potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and sodium. It also contains vitamins A, E, B, and PP.
Overeating bananas is harmful to the body and can cause the following reactions:
- Indigestion.
- Allergic reactions.
- Increased irritability and excitability.

The fruit is contraindicated in cases of coronary heart disease and thrombophlebitis. Bananas contain natural sucrose, so overeating causes blood glucose spikes. The combination of bananas with milk is dangerous due to intestinal disorders, flatulence and diarrhea. With normal consumption of the fruit, it has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract and helps with constipation. It improves mood, normalizes blood pressure and improves sleep.
Overeating persimmons
An orange berry with a unique taste, many varieties and health benefits is persimmon. Despite its unique composition, pleasant aroma and sweet taste, it should be consumed with caution. Overeating persimmon can cause the following side effects:
- Increased blood sugar levels.
- Disruption of metabolic processes.
- Weight gain.
- Constipation.
- Allergic rashes.
Poisoning with the product is possible when consuming large quantities of unripe fruits. In this case, there is a risk of formation of stones in the stomach and esophagus, intestinal obstruction. Persimmon is contraindicated for people who have recently undergone stomach surgery, diabetes, gastric or intestinal obstruction.
Painful symptoms occur when eating persimmons in combination with fish and seafood, dairy products and meat products. The fruit contains tannins that glue proteins (protein), which significantly complicates the digestion process, causing gastrointestinal disorders. You can eat no more than two persimmons per day. In this case, to improve the taste, it can be pre-freezed for 2-3 days.
Overeating pomegranate
Pomegranate is a berry, the fruits of which contain many useful micro and macroelements. Pomegranate contains fiber, tannins and organic acids, many vitamins and microelements. The berry has disinfectant and antiseptic properties, normalizes the digestive system.
Overeating pomegranate can lead to the development of the following symptoms:
- Exacerbation of gastric and intestinal ulcers.
- Increased acidity of gastric juice.
- Allergic reactions.
- Staining and destruction of tooth enamel.
People with hemorrhoids and chronic constipation should use the product with special caution, since its tannins have an astringent effect, creating problems with defecation. The berry is not recommended for children under one year old.
Overeating dried apricots
Dried apricots are as beneficial for the body as fresh apricots. They contain vitamins B, A, C, E, antioxidants and other substances necessary for normal metabolic processes.
Consuming excessive amounts of dried apricots can cause the following reactions:
- Exacerbation of ulcerative lesions of the stomach and intestines.
- Digestive disorders.
- Stomach ache.
- Increased gas formation.
- Hypoglycemia.
- Allergic reactions.

Excessive consumption of dried fruit is not recommended for people who want to lose weight. Dried apricots contain a large amount of carbohydrates, which contribute to weight gain. Also, gluttony leads to intestinal upset, which entails a violation of the microflora.
Overeating dates
Healthy and tasty dried fruits that both adults and children love are dates. They contain fats, proteins and a large amount of carbohydrates. The pulp of the product contains 15 salts, minerals, amino acids and dietary fiber. Dried fruits are very high in calories and filling.
The daily norm of fruit consumption is 3-5 pieces for adults and 1-2 fruits for a child. This amount is enough to replenish the deficiency of vitamins and minerals in the body. Before eating the delicacy, you should make sure that there are no contraindications, since the abuse of dates causes the following adverse reactions:
- Increased blood glucose levels.
- Due to the high glycemic index, the product is not recommended for obese or overweight people.
- Sugar has an aggressive effect on tooth enamel. If teeth are damaged by caries, pulpitis may develop.
- Exacerbation of gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Dates are not recommended for people with fructose intolerance. It should also be taken into account that often dried fruits are covered with dust and dirt, which is difficult to wash off. Because of this, pathogenic microorganisms can enter the body. The delicacy cannot be consumed simultaneously with citrus fruits, since the combination of sour and carbohydrate foods causes gastrointestinal disorders.
