Treatment of dyspepsia primarily involves treating the underlying disease. Treatment of alimentary insufficiency of digestion is based on additional introduction of missing substances into the diet - proteins, amino acids, vitamins, mineral salts in order to stimulate biosynthesis of the protein or prosthetic part of enzymes. In case of diarrhea, diet No. 4 is prescribed for 2-5 days, and then, when the condition improves, No. 46, which leads to normalization of the functions of the digestive organs. If the diet is ineffective during the first few days, as well as in case of severe dyspepsia, it is advisable to additionally prescribe astringents (chalk, white clay 0.5 g, tannalbin 0.4 g, dermatol 0.3 g, infusion of blueberry fruits, bird cherry, alder fruits, oak bark, pomegranate peels), and in case of flatulence, carminatives (carbolene, infusion of peppermint leaves, dill seed). Enzyme preparations help normalize digestion: pancreatin, abomin, panzinorm, pancurmen, polyzyme, mezim-forte, triferment, festal, digitalistal, etc.
