Indications for ultrasound of the bladder

  1. Dysuria or frequent urination.
  2. Hematuria (wait until bleeding stops).
  3. Recurrent inflammation (cystitis) in adults; acute infection in children.
  4. Formations in the pelvis.
  5. Urinary retention.
  6. Pain in the pelvis.

Always scan both kidneys when examining the bladder.
