The main goal of orchitis treatment is to eliminate the inflammatory process and destroy pathogenic microorganisms. For this purpose, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents, immunomodulators and a number of other medications are used. The treatment plan is made by the attending physician, based on the results of the diagnostics.

Treatment of orchitis at home comes down to treating the affected tissues of the scrotum with antiseptics and special ointments that speed up the recovery process. In combination with the medications prescribed by the doctor, non-traditional methods can be used, for example, infusions and decoctions of medicinal herbs, compresses, and rinsing.

To effectively get rid of orchitis at home, you can use the following recipes:

  • Grind 100 g of white cabbage to a pulp and mix with the same amount of boiled and crushed beans. Apply the resulting mixture to the scrotum tissue 2-3 times a day for 15-20 minutes.
  • Take 100 g of flax seeds and pour them into a bag made of natural fabric or gauze. Put the bag into a pan of boiling water and boil for 20 minutes. The remedy should be infused for about 10-15 minutes, then squeeze it out, cool it a little and apply to the inflamed scrotum.
  • Take two parts of sweet clover, three parts of birch leaves and lingonberries, four parts of chamomile flowers, five parts of immortelle and 10 parts of rose hips. Mix everything thoroughly and pour 4 tablespoons of the mixture into 1 liter of boiling water. The drink should be infused for 6-8 hours, then filtered and taken 1/3 cup 3-5 times a day.
  • Pour 500 ml of hot water over 100 g of hop flowers and leave covered for 1-2 hours. Strain and take ½ cup 3 times a day.

Home treatment methods should only be used after consultation with your doctor.

Folk remedies

Some patients diagnosed with orchitis resort to using unconventional therapeutic methods. Traditional treatment of testicular inflammation is carried out using the following recipes:

  • Pour 250 ml of boiling water over a tablespoon of crushed flax roots and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the decoction from the heat and let it brew for 20-30 minutes, strain. Take 50 ml 3-4 times a day before meals.
  • Mix 100 g of bean flour with the paste until you get the consistency of dough. Spread the mixture in an even layer on a cotton cloth and place the compress on the scrotum. Perform the procedure 2 times a day.
  • Take equal parts honey, aloe pulp and wine. Mix everything thoroughly and apply as a compress to a medicinal bandage and apply to the scrotum.
  • Grind a handful of fresh vetch grass to a mushy state and spread it evenly on a cotton cloth. Apply the compress to the inflamed scrotum 2-3 times a day.

Before using the above mentioned medicinal recipes, you should consult with your doctor.

Mumiyo for orchitis

A popular folk medicine remedy used to treat many diseases, including orchitis, is mumiyo. It is an organo-mineral product of natural origin. It contains more than 30 chemical elements, many micro and macro elements, vitamins, essential oils, bee venom and amino acids.

Natural mumiyo has a color from light brown to black and easily softens upon contact with warm liquid. For medicinal purposes, the already purified product is used, which can be purchased at the pharmacy in the form of tablets and other forms of release.

The wide range of applications of mumiyo is explained by its properties:

  • Regenerating – promotes the restoration of damaged cells and tissues.
  • Immunomodulatory – increases the body’s resistance to pathogenic microorganisms, has an antibacterial and antiviral effect.
  • Analgesic – reduces the severity of pain syndrome of any etiology.
  • Anti-inflammatory – mumiyo contains components (fatty acids, tannins, calcium, copper, magnesium, zinc) that reduce the intensity of the inflammatory process.
  • Antiseptic - when used externally it disinfects, and when used internally it helps detoxify the body.
  • Rejuvenating – improves cellular metabolism and promotes collagen production.

In case of testicular inflammation, mumiyo is taken orally 2-3 capsules 1-2 times a day or diluted to the consistency of thick sour cream, applying as a compress to the affected organ. The course of treatment is 20-25 days. In this case, it is recommended to combine the remedy with the juice of medicinal plants.

Mumiyo is effective in cases of weakened sexual function in men, hypospermatogenesis, erectile dysfunction, infertility, and also for the prevention of prostatitis and prostate adenoma. The natural remedy is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to its components. If the recommended dosage is not followed, there is a risk of developing adverse reactions.

Herbal treatment

Not only medications but also medicinal herbs can be used to treat testicular inflammation. Let's look at the most popular herbal medicine recipes:

  • Grind fresh rue grass to a pulp and combine with crushed bay leaf powder. Spread the herbal mixture on a cotton cloth and apply as a compress to the scrotum.
  • Take 3 larkspur seeds three times a day. The plant effectively dissolves inflammatory infiltrates and tumors.
  • Finely chop fresh horsetail grass and apply to the scrotum tissue as a compress. The procedure can be performed 2-3 times a day.
  • Take equal proportions of St. John's wort, lingonberry leaves, chamomile and elder flowers, and black poplar buds. Grind five tablespoons of the mixture thoroughly, pour into a thermos and add a liter of boiling water. The remedy should be infused for 10-12 hours. After straining, the infusion should be taken 3-5 times a day for 2-3 days. The course of treatment should last 3 months.

When using medicinal herbs, it should be taken into account that some herbal remedies can cause serious allergic reactions. To avoid the development of side effects, you should consult a doctor.

Homeopathy

In addition to folk methods and medicinal herbs, some patients use homeopathic remedies to treat orchitis. The following drugs can be used to eliminate testicular inflammation:

  • Arnica – swelling of the testicles and severe pain.
  • Belladonna – traumatic orchitis.
  • Aurum – inflammation of the scrotum, swelling and hardening of the right testicle. Painful sensations radiating to the back, groin and lower abdomen.
  • Cantharis – painful swelling of the testicles, difficulty urinating.
  • Conium – chronic inflammation with intense pain.
  • Pulsatilla – swelling of the testicles and pain, orchitis due to the mumps virus.

The above-mentioned preparations should be used as prescribed by a homeopath. The doctor selects an effective remedy, prescribes its dosage, duration of use and other nuances of treatment.

Masturbation with orchitis

Acute inflammation of the testicle is a contraindication for active physical activity. The patient is prescribed bed rest and sexual abstinence. Violation of this recommendation leads to severe pain, aggravating the course of the disease.

If the pathology is caused by a sexually transmitted infection, then sexual intercourse can lead to the partner becoming infected. As for masturbation with orchitis, it is not prohibited with the chronic form of inflammation.
