Habitual vomiting occurs with hysteria, neurasthenia and is caused by neural-reflex disorders of the motor function of the stomach in appearance, smell, taste of a certain food. It increases in case of disturbing situations and is more frequent in young women.
Habitual vomiting is characterized by the following features:
- has a long life (may appear in childhood or adolescence);
- appears at the beginning of the meal or immediately after the end of the meal without prior nausea;
- arises easily, bessnazhivaniya (habitually);
- can be suppressed independently;
- very rarely in public places;
- Relatively little disturbs the patient himself;
- as a rule, single.
Habitual vomiting should be differentiated with a peptic ulcer; stomach cancer; vomiting, arising from organic diseases of the nervous system, diseases accompanied by intoxication syndrome. For this purpose, an appropriate examination and FEGDS are carried out.
