Erosions of the stomach and 12-rectum - Types of erosions

Classification of erosions of the stomach and duodenum:
- Primary erosions.
- Secondary erosions (associated with the underlying disease).
- Erosions as a manifestation of a malignant or systemic process in the gastric mucosa (malignant erosions in cancer, lymphoma, Crohn's disease, etc.).
- Benign erosions:
- Acute erosions (hemorrhagic).
- Chronic erosions, single and multiple.
- Chronic erosive (lymphocytic) gastritis.
- Erosive hemorrhagic gastritis and duodenitis.
Acute erosions include flat erosions whose epithelialization period does not exceed 2-7 days; chronic erosions include erosions that do not undergo reverse development within 30 days or more.
