Where to do an ultrasound of the heart and how this procedure is performed, we will consider the nuances of diagnosing the cardiovascular system. Ultrasound examination is rightfully considered one of the most effective methods for studying the correct anatomical structure of the heart. With its help, it is possible to recognize defects and flaws in the structure of the main muscle of the human body.

Echocardiography is the most important technique in diagnosing various structural and/or functional changes in the heart. Echocardiography accurately displays anatomical details, makes it possible to measure the structures of the heart, and their movements are clearly traced throughout the cardiac cycle. Thus, echocardiography allows obtaining additional functional information compared to traditional two-dimensional ultrasound of other organs, assessing and measuring the contractions of the heart sections during the cardiac cycle. An electrocardiogram (ECG) is recorded simultaneously with echocardiography. The echocardiography technique requires special equipment settings, including very high temporal resolution (sometimes at the expense of spatial) and short-term image storage.

Ultrasound is almost always used to diagnose ischemic disease in pathologies of the heart muscle of various origins, in heart attacks. The method is used to study the structure and functioning of blood vessels, vessels of the abdominal cavity, brain and kidneys, since they often act as a kind of indicators of heart disorders. Ultrasound is used as a preventive measure, revealing any deviations from the norm.

The examination procedure is quite simple, the person is in a lying position, a conductive gel is applied to the body and organs are examined from different sides using a special device. The entire procedure takes no more than 15-20 minutes. Based on the diagnostic results, the patient is given a prescription with information that the attending physician needs.
