Fasting is prescribed for 1-2 days, then regular balanced nutrition: first diet No. 4 for 2-5 days, then No. 46. In case of fermentative dyspepsia, the proportion of low-molecular carbohydrates in the diet is reduced and the proportion of proteins is increased; in case of putrefactive dyspepsia, the amount of carbohydrates in the daily diet is increased. Treatment of fatty dyspepsia involves limiting fats, especially refractory ones of animal origin. In severe cases of alimentary dyspepsia, when the appropriate diet and diet do not eliminate digestive disorders, enzyme preparations are prescribed in individually selected doses. If dyspepsia accompanies diseases of the digestive organs, not only dietary nutrition is recommended, but also treatment of the underlying disease.
Prevention of alimentary dyspepsia consists primarily of proper, rational nutrition that meets physiological norms and the elimination of alimentary errors.
