Already in the early stages of osteoarthrosis of large joints (mainly knee and hip) patients of working age are taken to dispensary records. According to the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 243 of December 15, 1993, patients with osteoarthrosis of working age with lesion of large joints, mainly knee and hip, from the early stages of the disease are on dispensary record.
For dispensary registration and long-term outpatient treatment, patients with osteoarthritis can be divided into 4 groups:
- I - patients with compensated osteoarthritis of the knee joints (without signs of synovitis, periarthritis),
- II - patients with decompensated osteoarthritis of the knee joints (with the phenomena of synovitis, periarthritis),
- III - patients with compensated or decompensated coxarthrosis,
- IV - patients with coxarthrosis or gonarthrosis in the presence of concomitant diseases (mastopathy, fibromyoma, marked changes in the cardiovascular system, etc.).
For patients of group I, the frequency of planned calls for examination can be 2 times a year, group II - 3 times a year, group III - 4 times, for group IV - 4-5 times a year.
Radiography of the joints to identify the dynamics of the progression of the process must be repeated annually. The general analysis of blood and revmoproby make only in the periods of planned calls (if necessary - more often). During planned calls determine the need for hospitalization and clarify the indications for physiotherapy and spa treatment, adjust medication, exercise regimen, etc. In the process of dispensary follow-up, every 12 months for each dispensary patient is filled with a stage epicrisis, in which, in addition to the diagnosis, the dispensary group observation and multiplicity of the examination, the radiographic stage should be reflected, the therapy in all three stages (polyclinic - hospital - resort), evaluation of progress the effectiveness and effectiveness of clinical examination, as well as employment, transition to disability, changing the dispensary group, the number of days of incapacity for work, and the number of cases of aggravation in days.
