Chronic TTV hepatitis occurs as a mono-infection, but more often in the literature information is given on the combination of this with other viral hepatitis, namely: with CHB, CHC, and XGG.

It is interesting to observe M. Pistello et al. (2002), who showed that in patients with cryptogenic chronic hepatitis, TT-viremia was significantly higher than in patients with various other pathologies and the presence of a TT virus in the blood.

Pathomorphology of chronic hepatitis TTV

Histological examination of liver biopsy specimens in patients with chronic TT-hepatitis showed chronic focal portal or lobular hepatitis of minimal or low activity. It was also pointed out that a patient with chronic TT-hepatitis had steatohepatitis.

When TTV-monoinfection was practically not observed severe liver damage

Symptoms of Chronic TTV Hepatitis

In adult patients with TT-chronic hepatitis there is a wide variability in age-related aspects; from 16 to 70 years; duration of the disease - from 3 to 10 years.

Clinical symptoms of chronic TTV hepatitis are characterized by asthenic syndrome (fatigue, weakness, irritability). Patients complain of moderate periodic pain in the abdomen, more in the right upper quadrant, nausea, worsening of appetite. The increase in liver size is not always recorded with chronic TT-hepatitis. According to L.Yu. Ilchenko et al. (2002), hepatomegaly with chronic TT-hepatitis is revealed in 27.3% of cases.

In the biochemical analysis of blood in patients with chronic TT-hepatitis, a moderate increase in the activity of hepatic cell enzymes is recorded: ALT, ACT, GGTP; in some patients, the level of bilirubin is increased due to the conjugated fraction. With ultrasound, mild liver fibrosis is noted.

S.G. Khomeriki with co-workers. (2006), electron-microscopic studies in liver biopsy specimens of patients with chronic TTV monoinfection observed groups of hepatocytes whose cytoplasm was "stuffed" with particles of a virus that had a morphological similarity to TT-virus particles.

Chronic TTV hepatitis in children

Studies have shown that in 9% of children with chronic hepatitis of unknown etiology, TTV DNA was found in the blood serum. In addition, TTV DNA in the blood was found in 65.8% of CHC patients.

The course of chronic hepatitis TTV

In the literature, single information on the course of chronic TT-hepatitis is given. The normalization of the ALT and ACT activity indicators and the disappearance of DNA in some patients after 2-3 years of observation has been reported, but the persistence of the TT virus in patients with chronic hepatitis for 22 years has been proven.

Treatment of chronic hepatitis TTV

There is no information in the literature on the treatment of patients with chronic TTV hepatitis.
