If you plan to give birth to a child vaginally, but do not rule out the possibility of an emergency cesarean section, talk about this with your doctor. Ask when an unplanned caesarean section is being done, and what measures the doctor usually takes to stimulate vaginal delivery.
Experts believe that cesarean section should be performed only for medical reasons and offer a list of such cases:
- In the past, a woman was given a cesarean section. Sometimes after a cesarean section, women are treated for vaginal birth, but one should not forget about the risk of complications. Some medical institutions do not practice vaginal birth after cesarean section, so you need to weigh with the doctor all the pros and cons before deciding on vaginal birth after cesarean section.
- Distress syndrome of the fetus. When the fetus is slowed, the doctor usually does not risk his health and will conduct a cesarean section.
- Heavy prolonged labor (discoordination of labor). Dystocia is often controlled by medications that renew uterine contractions. But women with scar on the uterus after cesarean section oxytocin should be administered cautiously to minimize the risk of divergence during labor.
Opinions of doctors sometimes diverge about this. For some, genera are long, while others consider such a process quite normal. But everyone agrees that the main thing is to preserve the health of the mother and child.
