Folk treatment for overeating

In the fight against the absorption of excess food, not only classical methods are used, but also recipes of alternative medicine. Folk treatment of overeating is carried out with the help of such recipes:
- To improve intestinal peristalsis and quicker emptying of the stomach from food, take 2 parts honey and Cahors or other red wine, 1 part aloe. Wash the aloe, chop and combine with the remaining components until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Take 1 tablespoon an hour before meals.
- Infusion of celery root helps with constipation due to overeating. Take 2 tablespoons of crushed plant and pour 1 liter of water. The remedy should be infused for 10-12 hours. Strain and take 50 ml per day. Fresh celery juice or a decoction of its seeds will be no less useful.
- To eliminate the feeling of false hunger, a tincture of corn silk will help. Take 2 tablespoons of plant material and 500 ml of boiling water. Pour water over the silk and let it brew until it cools. Strain and take 1/3 cup 20 minutes before meals. The standard course of treatment is 1 month.
- If overeating has led to the problem of obesity, then medicinal tea will help. Take 2.5 teaspoons of calendula and mint flowers, 2 teaspoons of St. John's wort, rose hips and immortelle. Add 1 teaspoon of flax seeds to the herbal mixture. Mix everything thoroughly and pour 750 ml of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of the mixture. As soon as the drink cools, strain it and drink ½ glass before each meal during the day.
- Take 25 g of anise and licorice root, add 50 g of Cystoseira barbata. Pour 500 ml of boiling water over the ingredients and let it brew until it cools. Strain and take 1 glass 3 times a day for three weeks. This recipe effectively combats increased appetite.
Before using traditional medicine methods, it is necessary to ensure that there are no allergic reactions to the herbal ingredients of the recipes.
Lemon after overeating
Lemon contains a large amount of ascorbic acid, which increases the immune system's resistance to various diseases. Citrus also contains a complex of minerals and other components that improve the functioning of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, and have a positive effect on digestion and blood circulation.
Eating lemon after overeating is useful because the fruit has choleretic properties, stimulates the production of enzymes, improves the functioning of the liver and gastrointestinal tract. To facilitate the digestion process after a bout of gluttony, it is recommended to eat a couple of lemon slices, but without the peel, or drink a glass of mint tea with the addition of lemon juice. Lemon is not recommended for people with high acidity.
Mineral water for overeating
If overeating has caused severe heartburn, mineral water will help. When overeating, it is recommended to use alkaline water, mixing it with 1/3 teaspoon of baking soda or drinking it in its pure form, 50 ml before each meal.
- If the eating disorder occurs against the background of inflammation of the pancreas or has led to its appearance, then to stimulate gastric secretion it is recommended to drink sodium chloride, carbonic acid or sodium bicarbonate waters - Essentuki No. 4 and No. 17, Truskavets, Morshin. Drink 1 glass of water 3 times a day 20 minutes before meals.
- In case of increased acidity of the stomach or its ulcerative lesions, it is necessary to use mineral modes of medium or low mineralization. These are hydrocarbonate-calcium, sodium-magnesium, chloride-sodium, hydrocarbonate-sodium water. The liquid is taken an hour before meals.
- In case of constipation due to overeating, it is recommended to drink mineral waters that contain chloride, bicarbonate, sodium sulfate or magnesium sulfate. These chemical compounds stimulate the motor function of the intestine, which facilitates its emptying.
You can buy medicinal mineral water at a pharmacy. It should be taken into account that the waters are used not only for drinking, but also as enemas, in baths, as lotions and compresses.
Water with lemon after overeating
To normalize bowel function, eliminate constipation and improve overall well-being, it is recommended to drink water with lemon. This drink is especially useful for regular abuse of harmful products.
To avoid irritation of the gastric mucosa, take a glass of hot water, add a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice. Take the drink on an empty stomach after yesterday's gluttony.
Soda for overeating
Excessive gluttony leads to stomach disorders, i.e. dyspeptic symptoms. To eliminate painful sensations from the gastrointestinal tract and heartburn, it is recommended to use soda. Baking soda has an alkaline composition, which neutralizes the acid in the stomach. It also has cleansing properties, therefore it removes toxic and harmful substances from the body.
Methods to relieve indigestion after overeating with soda:
- Take ½ cup of warm water and dissolve 1 teaspoon of soda in it. Mix well and take the solution every 3-4 hours. Soda water will relieve bloating and nausea.
- Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and the same amount of lemon juice to a glass of water. Stir and drink before the soda dissolves completely. This recipe helps with stomach acidity disorders.
- Pour a glass of boiling water over a handful of peppermint and let it brew for 10 minutes. Strain and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda powder to the infusion. After 10-15 minutes, the symptoms of stomach upset will disappear.

Ginger for overeating
Ginger is a herbal remedy that stimulates the digestive system and has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Ginger root is used to combat overeating, or rather its complication – obesity.
Let's look at effective ginger recipes for improving bowel function:
- Pour 500 ml of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of peeled and thinly sliced ginger root. Drink ½ cup of the drink throughout the day.
- Mix a teaspoon of crushed ginger with a couple of cloves of garlic. Pour the herbal mixture into a thermos and pour boiling water over it. After 15-20 minutes, strain and take in small portions throughout the day.
- Take 20 g of finely chopped ginger and put it in a saucepan with ½ of finely chopped lemon. Add 500 ml of water to the saucepan and simmer over low heat until boiling. After 15 minutes, strain, add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and the same amount of honey.
Despite the fact that ginger tea is very useful, it is not recommended to use it during pregnancy and lactation. Also, do not forget that ginger is not a panacea for gluttony, it helps to combat some of the consequences of the bad habit.
Herbal treatment
Various methods are used to combat the problem of overeating. Herbal treatment deserves special attention. Plant components have a beneficial effect on the entire body, improve digestion processes and help get rid of the feeling of false hunger.
The following herbal recipes help in the fight against overeating:
- Take a teaspoon of crushed calamus and pour 200 ml of boiling water. The remedy should be infused for 1-3 minutes. Strain the infusion and drink it warm. Instead of calamus, you can use mint, lemon balm, chamomile, caraway or St. John's wort.
- Pour 200 ml of water over a tablespoon of rose hips and simmer over low heat for 5-10 minutes until boiling. Drink in small sips throughout the day.
- Take equal proportions of yarrow and chamomile. Pour a glass of boiling water over a teaspoon of the mixture, strain and drink after cooling.
- Grind tansy and chamomile using a blender. Mix a teaspoon of the herbal powder with the same amount of honey and finely chopped wormwood. Roll the finished mixture into bread balls. Take the "tablets" before, after or during the feast.
Before carrying out therapeutic treatment, it is necessary to make sure that there are no contraindications to the selected plant.
Homeopathy
An alternative treatment method that causes much controversy in official medicine is homeopathy. The following homeopathic preparations can be used for the problem of overeating:
- Argentum nitricum – pathological craving for sweets and other harmful products.
- Antimonium crudum – affects the emotional state, relieves irritability.
- Calcarea carbonica – allows you to keep your appetite under control of the true feeling of hunger.
- Ignatia – gluttony due to stress, worries, emotional instability.
- Graphites – increased gas formation after overeating.
The dosage of the above-mentioned drugs, as well as the indications for their use, is determined by a homeopathic physician.
