Traditional medicine, if you already have a diagnosis of cervical dysplasia, plays a supporting role.
The standard treatment regimen involves removing the area of epithelial tissue where pathological cell transformation has begun. This is primarily necessary to minimize the risk of developing cancer. However, many women try to cope with the diagnosis of cervical dysplasia on their own, using traditional medicine recipes. Traditional medicine certainly has the right to be respected, but it must be used wisely, preferably on the recommendation of a physician. Many herbal teas, tinctures, and decoctions have contraindications, and in the case of dysplastic processes that can lead to cervical cancer, this is unacceptable negligence. Therefore, within the framework of this article, we will try to give advice on exclusively safe methods of traditional medicine.
What folk remedies can be used in the treatment of cervical dysplasia?
- Intravaginal tampons with aloe decoction or extract. The substances that aloe contains activate metabolic processes in general, including in epithelial tissue cells. At home, you can try to prepare such a remedy:
- One fleshy aloe leaf is crushed with a knife, the resulting mass is placed in a dark, cool place, possibly in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
- The vaginal tampon is carefully dipped into the mixture and allowed to soak.
- The tampon is used twice a day and left in the vagina for 30-35 minutes.
Such manipulations are indicated after surgical intervention, since aloe helps tissue regeneration and accelerates healing.
- Calendula decoction is often recommended as a liquid for douching. Calendula has properties that stop inflammatory processes, helps heal small wounds, and partially participates in stimulating local protective immunity.
- 2 tablespoons of dried calendula flowers are poured with a glass of boiling water and infused for at least 30 minutes.
- You can prepare a more concentrated decoction by adding a handful of rose hips to the same amount of calendula.
- The decoction should be carefully strained, cooled to room temperature and used for daily douching (once a day).
- A mixture of dried nettle and yarrow will help reduce the activity of inflammation in the vagina and strengthen local protective immunity.
- Mix 50 grams of dried nettle with 50 grams of dried yarrow.
- steam with 1 liter of boiling water.
- cool, strain and use three times a day to wash the vagina.
- Sea buckthorn oil also has excellent regenerative properties. It is used as a means to soak vaginal tampons. It is better to buy the oil at a pharmacy, it will be of high quality and sterile. Tampons are generously soaked in sea buckthorn oil and placed in the vagina for 10-12 hours once a day (preferably before bedtime). This means should not be used for more than 1 month and under the supervision of a doctor.
- An infusion or decoction of eucalyptus leaves reduces the intensity of inflammation, partially neutralizes bacterial infection. Also, an extract of eucalyptus leaves, diluted in a certain proportion, is effective against viruses. According to statistics, cervical dysplasia in most cases has a viral etiology, so folk treatment with eucalyptus can be used as an addition to basic therapy. How to make a decoction yourself?
- 1.5-2 tablespoons of dry crushed leaves should be brewed with 250 ml of boiling water.
- The decoction is infused for about half an hour, and then boiled again for 10 minutes.
- The resulting liquid must be filtered twice and cooled.
- the decoction is diluted in a proportion of ½ or 1/3 depending on the task and severity of dysplasia (the stronger the infusion, the more active it is; a strong decoction is indicated as a remedy for douching in stage II CIN).
Traditional treatment of the diagnosis - cervical dysplasia may involve the use of herbal ointments (ointment with propolis), the use of herbal infusions in the form of a decoction as a drink. It is important to remember that the recommendations of the gynecologist, his advice are mandatory, no matter what the fame and reviews of the "miraculous" folk remedy. The risk of missing the development of oncogenic transformation of cells in the mucous membrane of the cervix is too great, experiments with your own health are unacceptable.
Treatment of cervical dysplasia with herbs
Herbal treatment for cervical dysplasia is not a basic therapy and is used only as an additional means of supporting the protective properties of local immunity of epithelial tissue. However, herbs can be a good help after surgical manipulations (cauterization, cryodestruction, conization), but only in the dosage and mode of application recommended by the gynecologist.
Let us list some of the most effective and at the same time safe recipes for herbal treatment:
- Pine buds are rich in essential compounds. In turn, they have a powerful antibacterial effect due to the presence of bornyl acetate, pinene, limonene and other ingredients. Raw pine buds should be finely chopped with a knife. Raw materials (3 tablespoons) are poured with cold water (1 liter) and boiled over very low heat for 3-4 minutes. Cooled to an acceptable room temperature, the decoction can be safely used for rinsing, irrigation and douching 2 times a day for two weeks. Please note that this recommendation is not universal, in any case, you should consult with your gynecologist.
- Very effective is an infusion or decoction of chaste tree, which is better known as vitex. It is not by chance that this shrub is called "sacred", the tree of Abraham (Vitexagnus castus). The leaves and fruits of the shrub have a hemostatic effect, a property that normalizes the work of the hormonal system. They were successfully used in ancient times by Hippocrates in the treatment of women's diseases. Dysplasia of the cervix, of course, is unlikely to disappear after douching with a solution of chaste tree, but as an auxiliary method of treatment, vitex is worthy of study and use.
- A decoction of burdock root mixed with milk thistle herb. This composition cleanses the blood well, activates the blood supply to the epithelial tissue and promotes faster healing of wound surfaces.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of milk thistle herb with 1 tablespoon of burdock root (it is better to buy the ingredients at a pharmacy).
- Brew the mixture with 250 ml of boiling water and leave for about half an hour.
- strain and use warm as a vaginal irrigation solution twice a day.
- The course should last at least 2 weeks.
- A mixture of dried clover and chamomile. Clover has properties that improve blood composition, and chamomile has long been famous for its antiseptic effect.
- take 50 grams of clover and chamomile flowers, mix and grind as finely as possible (almost to “dust”).
- Pour hot water (250 ml) over the mixture and simmer over low heat for no more than 5 minutes.
- Strain the resulting decoction twice through cheesecloth, cool and use as a liquid for moistening vaginal tampons.
- The course of treatment lasts 10-14 days, the tampon is inserted at night.
- Nettle mixed with viburnum berries. Both components cleanse the blood well, stimulate local immunity. This remedy is taken orally as morning tea, for a course of at least 3 weeks. The mixture must be brewed with boiling water, for a glass take the following proportions - 1 tablespoon of the mixture / 200 ml of boiling water. Cool the brewed mixture slightly, drink as a medicine 2-3 times a day, 150 milliliters.
- Eucalyptus globulus, eucalyptus leaves, are famous for their effective antibacterial action. This unique plant has long been considered a pharmacopoeial plant, that is, one that is boldly used in traditional medicine. Due to the content of essential components, eucalyptus fights coccal infectious agents (streptococcus, staphylococcus), as well as many other bacterial infections. A handful of dry eucalyptus leaves are brewed in a glass of boiling water like tea, filtered after 5-7 minutes and used as an infusion for douching (before the procedure, dilute the liquid with boiled water in a ratio of 2 tablespoons of infusion to 200 ml of water). The irrigation course should last at least two weeks.
- Cervical dysplasia can be successfully treated with propolis in the early stages of the process.
- 25 mg of propolis is thoroughly mixed with regular baby cream (without fragrances).
- Soak a vaginal tampon in the ointment and use it twice a day (for 20-30 minutes).
- The course of treatment can last up to a month, its duration is determined by the doctor.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy and cervical dysplasia is a rather rare combination, since the pathological processes occur in the vaginal cavity and there is no component for making a homeopathic medicine. But to maintain immunity, general well-being and as an adjuvant therapy, homeopathy may well claim a place in the general treatment course.
For what gynecological diseases can homeopathy be used?
- Hormonal disorders:
- PMS - premenstrual syndrome.
- Dysmenorrhea or amenorrhea (menstrual irregularities).
- Menopause.
- Disorders of ovarian function.
- Partially with hyperplastic processes in the endometrium.
- Inflammatory processes - as an addition to the main course of therapy:
- STDs – homeopathy is used as an adjunctive treatment, often during the period of completion of basic therapy.
- Pathologies of viral etiology – cytomegalovirus, HPV.
- Colpitis.
- Vulvovaginitis.
- Adnexitis.
- Endometriosis, endometritis.
- Precancerous diseases – homeopathy as a method of strengthening the body’s defenses:
- Fibroids.
- Myomas.
- Cysts.
- Polyps.
Thus, cervical dysplasia cannot be directly neutralized by homeopathic remedies alone. Homeopathy is indicated for the following tasks:
- Restoration of normal menstrual cycle.
- Restoration of ovarian function.
- Stabilization of the nervous system.
- Homeopathy can be used in cases where basic drug therapy is contraindicated (for example, during pregnancy).
- Increasing the body's protective properties - general and local immunity.
Since the effectiveness of homeopathy in the treatment of CIN has not been officially proven, all remedies from the homeopathic category should be prescribed only by the attending physician, preferably with special qualifications in this field.
Self-medication for a diagnosis of cervical dysplasia is unacceptable; in addition, homeopathic forms may not be entirely safe; precise dosage and regimen of medication are required.
Here is a short list of homeopathic remedies that are most often used in the treatment of gynecological pathologies:
- If HPV (human papillomavirus) is detected, Papillokan suppositories can be prescribed. Suppositories help basic drug therapy regulate local blood circulation in the area affected by papillomas. The suppositories also participate in the fight against the virus itself. The active ingredient of Papillokan is thuja extract, in a smaller dosage the preparation contains tea tree oil and homeopathic essence.
- Acidum nitricum can also be useful in the complex therapy of papillomavirus. The dosage and course of treatment are prescribed by a doctor.
- If cervical dysplasia is accompanied by irregularities in the menstrual cycle (this happens quite often), homeopathy can come to the rescue. Ovarium compositum is included in the group of homotoxic drugs, this remedy acts in a complex manner, affecting the main systems of the body. The main expected effect is the normalization of hormonal balance and improvement of the condition of uterine tissue cells. In addition, as homeopaths claim, Ovarium is able to reduce anxiety and improve the functioning of the nervous system as a whole.
- One of the most popular homeopathic medicines is Gynecoheel. Cervical dysplasia is often accompanied by a large list of concomitant gynecological diseases. It is at them that Gynecoheel is aimed. The medicine gently reduces tissue swelling, puts nerves in order, and participates in the fight against inflammatory processes as an auxiliary component.
- Lycopodium helps to activate the blood supply to the tissues of the uterus and cervix, and accordingly can influence their regeneration and improve metabolic processes.
- Sepia is often prescribed by homeopathic physicians as a means of regulating the menstrual cycle. There are individual reviews from gynecologists indicating that Sepia can improve the condition of the upper layer of tissue of the cervix, but there is no clinical basis or official statistics on this matter.
Homeopathy is still not as fully recognized in the medical world as standard medications. Perhaps this is undeserved, but in the treatment of such a serious disease as CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) it is better not to take risks. No homeopathic remedy can replace a targeted course of therapy, especially when dysplasia has already entered stage III of development.
