Q 66.2 Congenital deformed stop.
Symptoms of congenital reduced deformity of the feet
Congenital reduced deformity of the feet is characterized by reduction and supination of the forefoot along the Lisfranc joint line, valgus position of the posterior part, subluxation or dislocation of the wedge-shaped bones, pronounced deformation of the metatarsal bones, atypical attachment of the anterior tibial muscle. According to the Institute. G.I. Turner, it occurs in 8% of congenital deformities of the feet. Two forms of congenital reduced deformation of the feet are distinguished: typical and atypical. According to the severity of the current, light, medium and heavy are distinguished.
Treatment of congenital reduced deformities of the feet
Conservative treatment
Treatment of this deformation should start early, with the implementation of gradual gypsum correction. The general term of treatment at an easy degree of deformation is 2-3 months, with an average degree of severity up to six months.
Operative treatment
Operative treatment in the absence of results from conservative treatment should be carried out already from the age of 1 year. Up to the age of 10, the muscle that separates the 1st finger, the capsular-ligament apparatus between the metatarsal and wedge-shaped bones of the inner foot is dissected, modeling the resection of the 1st and 2nd wedge bones, changing their position from practically horizontal to vertical, moving points of attachment of the anterior tibial muscle to the 2nd wedge bone, followed by fixation with knitting needles and plaster bandage. In older children, operations are performed on the bones of the foot and the tendon-ligament apparatus. Osteotomies of the 1st-5th metatarsal bone, resection of bases of metatarsal bones, resection of cuboid and sphenoid bones, etc. Correction of valgus deformation of the foot is carried out by the second stage at a later age.
