Delayed urine in the body, incomplete emptying of the bladder - this is not only the risk of edema and congestion, but also the soil for the formation of bacterial colonies, which is not conducive to recovery.

So how to optimize the excretion of urine in cystitis? First, you need to start taking compositions based on diuretic herbs. So did our ancestors and passed many recipes to us. The action of plants with diuretic properties is based on increasing the rate of formation and excretion of urine, as well as inhibition of the absorption of liquid and salts in the tubules of the kidneys.

Physiologically, urine is formed in 2 stages, with many times more primary urine than secondary urine. Urination is the act of expelling secondary urine from the body after most of the fluid and beneficial substances from the primary urine in the tubules of the kidneys have been absorbed back into the blood. This serious filtration is necessary to maintain water-salt balance, maintain the rheological properties of the blood, screen out useful and harmful substances, and eliminate the latter and excess fluid from the body.

Excretion of excess fluid through the kidneys and cleansing of the bladder are interrelated processes, if we take into account the direction of urine flow and the location of the organs of the urinary system. Diuretic herbs help to cleanse not only the bladder, but also those organs of the urinary system that are located above and below it. In this way, the infection has much less opportunity to spread. The more intensive and more frequent this cleansing is, the less chance for germs to move to the kidneys or linger in the urethra, causing inflammation there.

Diuretic properties have such well-known medicinal herbs as ergot (bird's foot) and horsetail (pusher). It is these plants are most often used as diuretics for inflammation of the bladder, kidneys, urethra. These plants contain substances that irritate the mucosa of the urinary tract and thus stimulate their contractile function (silicon) and stimulate urine secretion (equisetin, found in horsetail).

Field horsetail is a plant that can have a toxic effect on the kidneys, so when using the herb for cystitis, you need to strictly adhere to the recommended dosages. To prepare the infusion for a glass of boiling water should take no more than 50 g of grass. Infuse the composition for 20 minutes, strain and take three times a day for 3 tablespoons. [1]

This amount of fluid is certainly not enough for effective urination. But it is also impossible to overdo horsetail. Therefore, the rest of the fluid should enter the body with food, in the form of water, drinks, as well as decoctions and infusions of other herbs.

As a drink for acute and chronic cystitis, you can use a weaker, and therefore less toxic decoction of horsetail. For its preparation per liter of water take 2 tbsp. Dry raw materials (you can buy in a pharmacy), bring to a boil and leave to cool at room temperature. Strain the decoction can be drunk during the day instead of tea. In the day you can drink up to 3 glasses of this drink.

In acute cystitis decoction can be diluted in equal proportions with an infusion of chamomile (3-4 spoons of inflorescences per glass of water, insist on a water bath for a quarter of an hour). This will help relieve the painful process of urination.

Compositions based on horsetail are not used in pregnancy, lactation, severe kidney disease.

Sporash is a non-toxic plant. This infusion can be used in large doses. [2] Prepare a therapeutic composition at the rate of 1-2 tbsp. Of herbs per glass of water. Infuse it on a water bath for 10-15 minutes, then remove it from the fire and leave it for another 1-2 hours. The strained composition is recommended to take but 1 tbsp. Before breakfast, lunch and dinner.

During the day you can drink the infusion, diluted with clean boiled water or a weak decoction of chamomile, and outside meals. But in acute cystitis and kidney inflammation it should not be abused.

In pregnancy, myocardial infarction or stroke infusions and decoctions of ergot are not recommended at all.

Sporash and horsetail are considered the most powerful diuretics, so in the acute form of cystitis with them you need to be careful, taking mostly as part of herbal collections that also contain anti-inflammatory herbs with analgesic effect (for example, in combination with chamomile, plantain, St. John's wort, sawdust, nettle). Valerian, melissa, kidney tea (orthosiphon stamen) also have antispasmodic effect.

But in chronic cystitis, these herbs can be used actively, as they will prevent stagnation and thus reduce the risk of exacerbations. Sporash can be used regularly in the form of tea, and horsetail can be taken in courses when the condition worsens and the first unpleasant symptoms appear.

As diuretics for acute and chronic cystitis can be used and other plants: bearberry, corn stalks, goldenseal, lingonberry, angelica. The effect of taking these plants is more modest, but they act softer, which reduces pain.

Herb bearberry(folk names: bear's ears, bear berry, mealybug) is used for cystitis, pyelonephritis, inflammation of the prostate gland due to the healing effect on the urogenital system. But it is necessary to observe the specified doses to avoid fever and vomiting, which is characteristic of overdose. [3]

Diuretic decoction of bearberry is prepared as follows: a glass of boiling water take 10 g of dry grass, kept on a water bath for a quarter of an hour, then cooled, bring cold boiled water to 200 ml and take half a glass three times a day.

In addition to diuretic for bearberry is also noticed some bactericidal and soothing effect, which makes it possible to use a decoction of the plant in the treatment of acute cystitis. But bear's ears have an unpleasant property - the herb increases the acidity of urine, so it is recommended to include in the patient's diet foods and drinks with alkalizing effect.

Corn stigmas are a diuretic, quite acceptable during pregnancy, when some happy moms have an increased risk of bladder inflammation, especially if she has previously suffered from this disease. [4]

Decoction is prepared from 3 tsp. Of dry raw materials and a glass of water. Pour cold water, bring to a boil and kept on medium heat for 10 minutes, then turn off the fire and leave the composition to infuse for an hour. Cooled decoction strained and take three times a day before meals 2 tbsp. For 1-2 weeks. After that, take a break for 4 days, and the treatment continues for another 1-2 weeks.

Expectant mothers from cystitis can take and infusion of corn stigmas. For a glass of boiling water take 1 tbsp. Of plant material and insist for an hour. Take an infusion of half a cup before meals.

Not recommended means based on corn stigmas to patients with thrombosis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, increased blood coagulation, as well as those with reduced appetite and low body weight.

Many medicinal herbs are valued for the fact that they have a complex action: diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic, contribute to the dissolution and excretion of stones in the bladder, if the disease is caused by damage to the walls of the bladder by concretions. Using such herbs from cystitis can achieve good results, without bothering to prepare a therapeutic collection to provide a comprehensive treatment of the symptoms of the disease.
