Fiber - the main component of the diet of people with constipation
In the Middle Ages, to prevent constipation, a certain Ibn Sina offered to eat only wholemeal bread, which consists of bran, and also to make porridge from unmilled grain. After all, bran bran, although it is worse digested by the stomach, retains more healing properties than finely ground bran. All the properties and capabilities of dietary fiber are lost with a strong grinding of food.
Heat treatment also adversely affects the healing properties of bran, because they are digested faster in the body and their activating effect is weakened. The peristaltic activity of the intestines, the ability of the fiber to bind water, and the speed of movement of feces very much.
What is so useful bran?
In addition to dietary fiber, bran also contains electrolytes, B vitamins, and other useful ingredients. The most active medicinal and nutritional properties are bran from wheat and rye. Wheat bran shells have adsorption capacity and can bind liquids that exceed their volume by 3-5 times. Since bran can reduce the amount of glucose and cholesterol in the body, they are recommended to be consumed by people with diabetes, higher rates of obesity, or atherosclerosis.
In what form should bran be used?
Before eating bran, reduce the amount of starch in them. To do this, you need to put the bran in a gauze bag and rinse over running water for about two hours, and then boil it in water for 30 minutes. This procedure is repeated twice. Next bran should be carefully squeezed, dried in a not very heated oven and grind in a coffee grinder. After this processing, bran, you can add them to flour products, cereals and vegetable dishes.

- First recipe:
Pureed curd is mixed with crushed apples, egg and sorbitol. Again, the dough is not rolled out, but they form cakes from it, put them on a baking sheet, stuffed with minced meat and covered with a thin layer of raw eggs. Cheesecakes are baked in the oven with high temperature.
- The second recipe:
Two glasses of bran, butter, sour cream, sugar, cottage cheese and salt are mixed in one container and left to stand for 20 minutes. The resulting dough is spread in the form of cakes on a pan, covered with butter. In the middle of each cake put a cheese ball. For the preparation of minced cheese use 1 teaspoon of flour, cottage cheese, 3 yolks and 2 tbsp. Spoons of sugar. Cover the flat cakes with egg and bake.
Bran Cookies
Sorbitol (or sugar) is whipped together with the egg in a mixer to increase the mass in volume up to 2-3 times. Then you need to add bran flour and salt, and then gently mix everything. Put the dough on a baking sheet with a pastry bag in the form of various figures and bake cookies for 10 minutes with a temperature of 180-200 ° C. Cookies can also be made by adding nuts to the dough. To do this, take a glass of bran, a few tablespoons of ground nut, 4 eggs, 1 spoon of butter and sugar. Egg whites should be whipped with sugar, then yolks, sifted bran and ground nuts are added to the mass. This whole mass is thoroughly mixed. The baking sheet is oiled, and the dough is spread on top with a tablespoon. Bake cookies in the oven at high temperature.
Cranberries with bran
Sorbitol must be dissolved in kefir. Mix flour with bran, add kefir, egg, vegetable oil and mix everything thoroughly. Roll out the dough with a pancake and place on a baking sheet, and then bake at high temperature. While the cake is hot, it is cut into smaller cakes.
Sweet cakes
Sour cream should be brought to a boil, add bran to it and mix, gradually cooling the mass. In it add shabby cheese, egg, butter, sorbitol and again everything is mixed. From the dough you need to form small cakes and bake in the oven.

Now in the store you can buy everything, including bread with the addition of bran or crushed grain. On the shop windows, it is hard not to notice a variety of bakery products with a heterogeneous consistency, in their composition 20-40% of wheat bran. Protein-bran bread, buns with egg yolk, doctor bread, bran bread with lecithin and laminaria (seaweed) contain 1.5 - 2.1% of cell membranes.

Dietary rye bread
It is made from rye flour and bran. This bread is very moist and has a high acidity, which means that it is not recommended to use the ulcers, people suffering from gastritis and high acidity. Rye bread is useful for regular constipation, diabetes and obesity.
Grain bread is made from high-grade wheat flour and coarsely ground wheat grain. Its consumption gives good results in chronic constipation and is useful for people who have insufficient physical exertion (for example, if a person travels frequently by train).
Barvikhinsky bread is baked from high-grade wheat flour and wheat grains in a 1: 1 ratio. This bread is also enriched with egg white.

Bran without processing
Bran is extremely useful in unprocessed form. It is better to eat two dessert spoons of bran every day, washing them down with water, juice, or adding them to the soup. Before using bran, they should be poured with boiling water so that they swell and soften.
The first few weeks bran can be consumed in the amount of 1 tsp three times a day, over time increasing this dose to 2 tbsp. Spoons three times a day. When the result is achieved, the amount of bran can be reduced. This treatment takes place over 6 weeks.
It is worth remembering that a balanced diet is the first step in the fight against constipation. Diet - still not the only way to treat this disease.
