If you have symptoms that indicate such a serious disease as gonorrhea, treatment must be prescribed by a qualified venereologist, urologist or gynecologist.

Treatment of acute gonorrhea

The basis of treatment of acute gonorrhea is the use of antibacterial agents, among which azithromycin, ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin are the first. In cases where gonorrhea is accompanied by chlamydial infections, treatment can be supplemented with azithromycin or doxycycline.

Treatment regimen

  • Ofloxacin - 0.3-0.4 g 2 times a day, 7-10 days.
  • Ciprofloxacin - orally once 0.25 g, intravenously - 0.1 g. 5-15 days.
  • Ciprinol - single dose of 500 mg, intravenously 200-400 mg, 5-7 days.
  • Ampicillin - single dose 0.5 g. From 5-10 days to 2-3 weeks.
  • Azithromycin - one time 1 g (2 tablets of 0.5 g). From 5 days.
  • Doxycycline - 100 mg 2 times a day. 2-4 days.

The number of antibacterial drugs used in the treatment of gonorrhea is quite large. For the right choice and correct treatment, consult a venereologist.

Treatment of chronic gonorrhea

Chronic gonorrhea is treated with a course of antibiotic therapy that is much longer than the acute form, and several antibacterial drugs can be used simultaneously. Treatment of chronic gonorrhea is aimed at strengthening the body's defenses. Vitamin therapy, drugs to improve immunity, the introduction of a gonococcal vaccine and antibiotic therapy are indicated. The vaccine is administered into the buttock area or directly under the skin. In severe cases of the disease, along with high fever, general weakness of the body, and acute pain in the affected area, the vaccine is not used. Injections of the gonococcal vaccine are given at intervals of one or two days, each time increasing the dose based on the individual reaction of the body.

Treatment of gonorrhea in women

Women with torpid and chronic forms of the disease are shown local injections into the submucosa of the cervix and urethra. After this manipulation, an acute increase in temperature may occur after twenty to thirty minutes. Contraindications to this procedure are pregnancy, critical days, acute inflammation. For the purpose of non-specific immunotherapy, pyrogenal, prodigiosan, methyluracil, levamisole, glycyram, thymactin are used.

Biogenic stimulants and enzymes accelerate the processes of neutralization of infiltrates in the urethra and sex glands. For these purposes, aloe extract, trypsin, chymotrypsin, plasmol, placenta extract are used - in the absence of contraindications, including liver cirrhosis, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal tract diseases, cardiovascular pathologies, late pregnancy.

Local treatment of gonorrhea involves instillation of a solution of protargol, collargol or silver nitrate, you can sit for ten to fifteen minutes in warm water with the addition of chamomile or potassium permanganate solution. Gonorrhea often makes itself known in the form of an inflammatory process of the mucous membranes, which is accompanied by purulent, sometimes with the addition of mucus, discharge from the urethra in males, from the urethra and cervix - in women. Due to a certain anatomical structure of the body, severe pain often bothers men, in women gonorrhea can be asymptomatic.

Treatment of gonorrhea in men

Treatment of gonorrhea in men is carried out relatively quickly, but it should be remembered that there is a high probability of relapse. To avoid sagging of the testicles, a special suspensory is put on them. If gonorrhea is accompanied by a painful erection, ice compresses can be applied to the penis and scrotum. If there are difficulties with urination, you should drink a decoction of parsley and take warm baths. It is necessary to wash the urethra with a solution of potassium permanganate, chlorhexidine. The basis of treatment is antibacterial therapy.

Physiotherapeutic treatment of gonorrhea

Physiotherapeutic methods in the complex treatment of gonorrhea involve the use of electrophoresis. For these means, potassium iodide, zinc sulfate, copper, calcium chloride are used, which helps to eliminate the inflammatory infiltrate, normalize blood flow and stimulate immunological processes, eliminate pain syndrome. Diathermy (use of high-frequency alternating electric current), mud therapy are also used, which have a beneficial effect on immune processes, have a desensitizing effect.

Home Treatment for Gonorrhea

First of all, it should be clearly understood that treatment of gonorrhea without the help of a doctor may not only fail to give a positive result, but also harm your health. At home, the most commonly used is bicillin 1, 3, 5 diluted with novocaine using intramuscular injections. Half an hour before the injection, the patient takes three tablets of etamide (1.05 g). Later, the drug is taken three times with an interval of three hours. Bicillin injections are done in two stages: first, the needle is inserted into the outer upper part of the gluteal region, and then, if there is no blood, the antibiotic is administered. In total, seven to ten injections of 600,000 IU are indicated with a break of twenty-four hours. The patient also uses trichopolum - three times a day, 1 tablet. Alcohol consumption is contraindicated during treatment.

Folk treatment of gonorrhea

Traditional methods of treating gonorrhea are used as an adjunctive therapy and cannot be considered as an independent type of treatment. To alleviate the condition, you can drink a decoction of burdock roots, one tablespoon 3-4 times a day. Fresh parsley can also be used to prepare a decoction: pour 2 tablespoons of fresh finely chopped parsley with 0.5 liters of hot boiled water, leave for 1 hour, strain and drink in equal portions throughout the day. Tinctures of zamaniha, rosea rhodiola, and ginseng have a stimulating effect.

If you have been diagnosed with gonorrhea, treatment should be accompanied by strict hygiene, regularly washing your hands with soap. Your daily diet should include plenty of fluids, and you should avoid spicy foods and alcoholic beverages. It is recommended to avoid going to the pool, cycling, exercising on exercise machines, sexual intercourse, excessive physical exertion, and long walks.

If you have been diagnosed with gonorrhea, you must complete the treatment. Even with seemingly positive changes, it is unacceptable to interrupt the treatment process, since the pathogen (gonococcus) remaining in the body will lead to the development of a chronic form of the disease. After the treatment is completed, you must undergo a control examination.
