Symptoms of diencephalic syndrome

Symptoms of the diencephalic syndrome are very diverse both in the combination of symptoms and in the intensity of their manifestation. Leading features:
- obesity;
- presence of crimson streaks on the skin (striae);
- vegetative disorders:
- tension or migraine headaches;
- fluctuations in blood pressure and orthostatic collapse;
- hyperhidrosis;
- increased fatigue;
- dizziness (sometimes);
- disorders of the menstrual cycle from uterine bleeding to oligo- and amenorrhea;
- hirsutism;
- sleep disorders;
- emotional lability, irritability, a tendency to depression.
The severity of these symptoms depends on the severity of the damage to the hypothalamic structures.
