Radiovisiograph - a device for computer dental radiography. When producing dental images, a flat receiver (detector) of X-ray radiation with a plastic bag put on it is inserted into the oral cavity and held according to the area of study. The sensitivity of the detector allows for a significant reduction in exposure and, thus, radiation exposure. The effective equivalent dose is 10 times lower than when performing an intraoral contact image.
The radiation energy is transformed into electrical signals, sent to the computer and visualized on the display screen. If necessary, the image can be recorded on paper or magnetic media, the image as a whole or any part of it can be enlarged, the contrast can be changed and thus the quality of the canal filling can be objectively assessed.
Using densitometry, histograms can be used to detect channels that are not detectable using traditional X-ray examination.
It should be emphasized that close cooperation between the radiologist and the dentist is necessary when studying the image on the display screen, which often allows obtaining a greater amount of information than when analyzing prints on paper.
