Radiovisiograph - apparatus for computer dental radiography. In the production of images of teeth, a flat detector (detector) of X-ray radiation with a plastic bag placed on it is injected into the oral cavity and retained respectively in the study area. Sensitivity of the detector allows to significantly reduce the exposure and thereby the radiation load. The effective equivalent dose is 10 times lower than with the intraoral contact image.
The radiation energy is transformed into electrical signals, enters the computer and is visualized on the display screen. If necessary, you can record the image on paper or magnetic media, enlarge the image as a whole or some part of it, change the contrast and thereby objectively assess the quality of the filling of the channel.
Using densitometry, on the basis of histograms, it is possible to detect channels that are not detectable by traditional radiographic examination.
It is necessary to emphasize the need for close cooperation between a radiologist and a dentist when studying an image on a display screen, which often allows you to obtain more information than when analyzing prints on paper.
