Defloration (Latin de - removal, elimination + flos, floris - flower, youth, virginity) - violation of the integrity of the hymen. As a rule, defloration occurs during the first sexual intercourse. Usually, girls experience pain after defloration. In rare cases, the hymen can stretch and remain intact after one or more sexual acts. There are cases when girls are born without a hymen, but this is not common.

What is the hymen?

The hymen is a fold of the vaginal mucosa and performs a protective function, preventing harmful bacteria from passing through the genitals. It can have different shapes and in some women it has different physiological parameters. With rare exceptions, the hymen does not close completely, which allows menstruation to flow freely. In other cases, when menstrual flow cannot flow freely, surgical intervention may be required before and after the loss of virginity.

Causes of pain after losing virginity

"The first time" in girls is usually accompanied by pain and bleeding. Sometimes the peculiarities of the individual structure of the genitals in girls can cause pain after losing virginity. In addition, painful sensations can be caused by infections accompanied by inflammatory processes. If the hymen is not very closed, then the pain after the first sex is either absent or does not last very long. In general, the strength of the pain depends on many factors: the general physiological and psychological state and the correct actions of the man during sexual intercourse. The most interesting thing is that when the hymen ruptures, cow's bleeding is not at all an obligatory sign of the rupture of the loss of chastity. Thus, about 20-30% of women do not experience pain and bleeding is not observed. But there are cases when the "womb" bleeds for a week.

Traumatic defloration

During defloration, the "success" of the procedure often depends on the man. Sex "while drunk" or, God forbid, rape, can lead to serious consequences. Such rough intercourse can result in injuries and ruptures of the vaginal opening, and sometimes even a rupture of the perineum.

Unnatural defloration

You can lose your chastity not only through contact with a man. You can also tear your hymen through self-gratification, same-sex sex, petting, and excessive use of dildos. Injuries, stretching during the splits, and even the carelessness of a gynecologist can also cause a rupture of the hymen. The fear of experiencing pain after losing your virginity pushes some girls to remove the hymen surgically.

Some statistics

A girl may already be ready for a full sexual life immediately after puberty, that is, from 12-13 years old. However, morality in many countries of the world does not allow this to be done before adulthood. What is most interesting is that most girls do not withstand such restrictions and, on average, lose their virginity at 17 years old, but according to gynecologists, there are cases when girls become women at 11 years old.

According to statistics, young Czech and Icelandic women become "no longer girls" at about 15 years old. Residents of Italy, Ukraine and France say goodbye to chastity at 16 years old, girls from Germany, Portugal, the USA, China and Russia - at 17 years old, British women - at 18 years old, and residents of Pakistan - at 20 years old. In African tribes, this age varies from 10 to 20 years old.

Doctors advise to lose chastity at the age of optimal elasticity of the hymen, that is, at 18-20 years. By the age of 23, the elasticity of the hymen gradually decreases by an average of 30%, by 30 years - by 80%. This can cause pain after losing virginity, heavy bleeding.

What to do if you have pain after losing your virginity?

If you experience pain after losing your virginity, first of all, you need to see a gynecologist, and it is best to do this in advance, before the girl decides to part with her virginity. Based on the results of the examination, it will already be clear how best to perform the defloration procedure and whether it is worth it at all. After the first sexual intercourse, you should also go to the doctor to make sure that the procedure went without complications.

In cases where the bleeding is quite intense, does not stop for several days, and all this is accompanied by fever and purulent discharge from the vagina, you should not expect a miracle and you should immediately go to the hospital. In addition, an unsuccessful, say, incomplete defloration procedure also requires medical intervention. There are also cases of pregnancy after the first sexual intercourse. This usually happens with unprotected sex. The first sign is a delay in menstruation. To be sure of this or to be dissuaded, you cannot do without the advice of a doctor.

Despite everything, after the first sexual intercourse the hymen may remain intact, especially if the hymen is excessively or, on the contrary, not elastic enough. If the hymen can stretch freely enough, then losing virginity will only be possible after childbirth, with the exit of the fetus. The worse the elasticity of the hymen, the more difficult it is to tear it and for this, it may be necessary to have a surgeon make a small incision so that defloration occurs naturally in the future.

Is orgasm possible during defloration?

As medical practice shows, such cases are quite rare. Usually defloration is accompanied, if not by pain, then at least by unpleasant sensations. Subsequent sexual intercourse gives the woman more pleasant sensations, but this already depends on her mood and, to a greater extent, on the behavior of the partner.

Under what conditions should the defloration process be carried out?

The conditions should be comfortable first of all for the girl. Her psychological attitude can affect not only the process of defloration, but also her future health. Therefore, to play it safe and make the first sex as comfortable as possible, first of all, mutual consent of the partners is necessary. The girl should be morally ready to become a woman. The environment should be as comfortable as possible, the room and bed should be clean, there should be no strangers in the house, it is desirable that even the phone does not interfere. You can drink a glass of champagne, which will help your partner relax a little and dull the feeling of shame, but you should not lean on alcohol.

pain after losing virginity

Doctors advise performing the procedure during the day, because the girl will feel more comfortable in the light, and the man will be able to control the sexual act so that defloration occurs without injury.

Some doctors are sure that caresses during the first sexual intercourse are not the best idea. After all, as practice shows, a girl is unlikely to be able to achieve an orgasm immediately after defloration, either sexually or with the help of caresses. However, to develop sexuality and passion in a woman, you can use some love “tricks” that will not create psychological and physiological barriers during sex in the future.

Before depriving a girl of her virginity, the partners should take a comfortable position in bed. Then the man should go over the erogenous zones: nipples, inner thighs, clitoris (this organ can be caressed until the girl has an orgasm). After caresses, the man should carefully and gently lie down on his partner, and then carefully “enter” her to break the hymen. The movements should be smooth with a gradual deepening. After breaking the hymen, sexual intercourse should last no more than 2 minutes. In the future, sexual intercourse can be repeated in the next two days so that the vagina heals after the rupture of the hymen. It is possible that the hymen will not be broken on the first try. As for the position, most doctors advise using the missionary position, that is, the position when the partner lies on her back.

Should you use protection during your first time having sex?

Any sexologist and gynecologist will say yes. The most convenient contraceptive is a condom. Thanks to it, the partner will not get pregnant or get sick, because after the hymen breaks, the girl's vagina is especially susceptible to attack by bacteria and infections. Let's face it: not all men are equally clean, and a dirty genital organ can bring a lot of trouble to a girl who has just entered into sexual life. In any case, even if the partners are spouses, it is worth using a condom during the first act.

What are virgins afraid of?

Most women, when they are still young girls, are very afraid of losing their chastity, because this process is associated with pain after losing virginity. And there is some truth in this - such is female physiology. In addition, girls are afraid of unplanned pregnancy, infectious diseases. There are also social complexes and stereotypes, for example, that no man will marry a non-virgin. By the way, modern men increasingly approach the question of whether his bride is a virgin or not from a pragmatic position: will he have complete sexual compatibility with his chosen one? And, most likely, this is right, because according to statistics, 70% of divorces in the world occur precisely because of incompatibility in bed.
