Laboratory diagnostics of hypochloraemic coma

  1. A general blood test: an increase in the content of red blood cells and hemoglobin (blood thickening), a hematocrit up to 55% or more, leukocytosis, an increase in ESR.
  2. The general analysis of urine: decrease in quantity and relative density of urine - there is a proteinuria, the cylinderuria is possible.
  3. Biochemical blood test: decrease in sodium content (usually below 120 mmol / l), potassium (below 2.5-2 mmol / l), chlorine (below 85 mmol / l), total protein, increase in blood urea, creatinine, bilirubin.
  4. Study of the acid-base state: metabolic alkalosis.
  5. ECG: diffuse changes in the myocardium, signs of hypokalemia: smoothing and deformation of the T wave, shifting the ST interval downward from the isoline.
