Morning hygienic exercises and therapeutic exercises are used.
Morning hygienic gymnastics lasting 5-15 minutes has a great health value and includes simple gymnastic and breathing exercises, as well as relaxation exercises. The main task of morning hygienic gymnastics is to activate physiological processes, increase overall tone, and create a cheerful mood. This gymnastics (depending on the state of health) is carried out at home, in a hospital department, rehabilitation department, or sanatorium.
Therapeutic gymnastics is the main form of therapeutic exercise, usually performed once a day, but if it is necessary to increase physical activity, the exercises can also be performed independently. Individual therapeutic gymnastics classes are usually performed with relatively seriously ill patients. Group classes (the most common) are usually used in rehabilitation departments, sanatoriums and rest homes. Independent therapeutic gymnastics classes are performed at home after discharge from the hospital department or in departments
Correct performance of therapeutic gymnastics sessions involves distribution of physical load in accordance with the optimal physiological curve - the body's reaction to physical exercises during the session. In the therapeutic gymnastics procedure, distribution of physical load can be represented by a multi-peak curve. To account for physical load, pulse, respiratory rate, and blood pressure are recorded.
Three periods of therapeutic exercise
- Introductory period (15-25% of time) - preparation of the body for increasing load. The simplest gymnastic and breathing exercises are used.
- The main period (up to 70% of the time) is the implementation of a private method of therapeutic gymnastics.
- The final period (15% of the time) is a gradual reduction in physical activity. Simple gymnastic exercises are performed, most often for small joints, as well as breathing exercises, elements of autogenic training combined with relaxation.
The movement regime is a necessary condition for the effectiveness of therapeutic gymnastics. An active regime, filled with various movements, places increased demands on the patient's body. The rest and load regime is calculated separately for exhausted, overtired, and recovering patients. Patients who follow such a regime must strictly dose the load, exclude unnecessary irritants, and create conditions for passive rest.
