The purpose of surgical treatment of transverse defects of the hand
- Correction of linear finger sizes using distraction methods, microsurgical foot to hand transplantation, pollicization operations.
- Elimination of the syndactyly of the fingers by plasticizing with local tissues or combined skin plasty (depending on the size of the fusion).
- Correction of concomitant pathology (congenital constrictions with ectrodactyly, clinodactyly).
