The most valuable substance of the plant is silymarin, it protects the liver from toxins and harmful substances, renews damaged cells and stimulates their regeneration. Milk thistle contains vitamins A, B, D, E, K, F, protects the body from premature aging, normalizes digestion, bile secretion and metabolism.

Milk thistle medicine recipes for the liver:

  • Pour 250 ml of boiling water over 20 g of plant roots and simmer in a water bath for 30 minutes. Strain the resulting mixture, add more cooled boiling water so that the total volume is 250 ml. Take 3 times a day, one tablespoon before meals.
  • Grind milk thistle seeds thoroughly into powder, pour water over it and boil until the liquid is reduced by half. Strain the resulting decoction and take one spoon before meals for 2 months.

Available in the form of drops. Patients are prescribed 10 drops 3 times a day before meals or an hour after. Duration of treatment is 2-6 weeks. Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the product, patients under 18 years of age, during pregnancy and lactation. Possible side effects are allergic reactions, rash, itching.
