The drug Clenbuterol refers to the pharmacological group of beta-adrenomimetics for the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases. The mechanism of action of Clenbuterol on the bronchi and lungs - the removal of spasms, a decrease in mucus production, a decrease in its viscosity and an improvement in excretion - is provided by the active substance - clenbuterol hydrochloride, which is 4-amino-alpha (tert-butylamino) methyl-3,5-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. At beta-2-adrenoreceptors, Clenbuterol has the same effect as adrenaline and norepinephrine, that is, it excites them. When interacting with the membrane enzyme of AC in cells, the concentration of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) increases and protein kinases are inactivated. As a result, inhibition of the transmission of the inflammatory signal of the immune cells of the bronchi and lungs and the relaxation of their muscle fibers occur.
But this drug also affects beta-1-adrenoreceptors of the heart and beta-3-adrenoreceptors, which are localized in adipose tissue. Thus, Clenbuterol for weight loss works by stimulating beta-3-adrenoreceptors, which leads to a metabolic effect - increased heat production and activation of lipolysis. In addition, there is an anabolic effect of this drug, which is due to a positive effect on the synthesis of proteins.
