Anaprilin (propranolol, obzidan, inderal). Anaprilin is a specific beta-blocker.
The drug is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, in connection with which it is quite suitable for oral administration. The optimal dose (the concentration of anaprilin in the blood after taking the drug inside is determined in the interval from 45 to 120 minutes. The half-life with intravenous administration is 60 minutes, with oral administration - 2 hours. About 90% of the drug is excreted in the urine as metabolites.
Beta-blockers and pregnancy
According to the data obtained in recent years, anaprilin is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation. The drug passes through the placental barrier, and its use in the early stages of pregnancy does not lead to teratogenic effects on the fetus. However, it has a toxic effect on the fetus. The introduction of anaprilin in doses of 240 mg / day during the first 4 months of pregnancy and at 160 mg / day later leads to the fact that newborns in the first days of life have depression, polycythemia, hypoglycemia and bradycardia. In addition, the drug can cause a decrease in uteroplacental blood flow and cause placental insufficiency by reducing the mother's cardiac output. In childbirth anaprilin can affect the heartbeat of the fetus.
Contraindications to the use of beta-blockers
Beta-adrenoblockers are contraindicated in bronchial asthma, severe retardation of atrioventricular conduction, heart failure, significant bradycardia, with diabetic ketoacidosis and acidosis of another genesis. Circulatory insufficiency is not a contraindication if beta-adrenoblockers are prescribed in combination with cardiac glycosides.
