Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a steroid produced by the adrenal gland and is a precursor of estrogens and androgens. The effects of its effect on the body are similar to the effects of testosterone. It can also be synthesized by precursors in Mexican sweet potatoes; this form is usually the most accessible.
