Pregnancy is not only a happy expectation of the baby. Unfortunately, it also pains in the legs, swelling, manifestations of varicose veins, heaviness and constant fatigue of the lower extremities. Troxevasin in pregnancy - one of the means that can alleviate such symptoms.

Indications for use

The main indications for the use of troxevasin during pregnancy are signs of venous insufficiency, varicose veins of the visible or deep veins of the lower limbs.

The early stages of vascular wall lesions, which manifest themselves in the form of heaviness and fatigue of the legs, convulsive muscle contractions, edema of the lower limbs, the appearance of vascular "sprouts", are successfully cured using a combination of internal and external troksevazine. As soon as possible, the use of troxevasin during pregnancy makes it possible to restore and improve blood circulation in venous vessels.

The use of troxevasin in pregnancy in late stages of the disease, characterized by a visible presence of dilated veins and nodes, significantly improves the overall condition of patients, activates trophic processes in tissues, eliminates convulsions and heaviness in the legs, but, unfortunately, does not relieve external manifestations of venous wall disruption.

The use of troxevasin in the period of gestation can also be considered as a preventive measure to reduce the load on the vascular system, as well as to reduce the degree of edema and stagnant phenomena in the lower extremities.

Form of issue

Troxevasin is available in the form of capsules or in the form of a gel for external use.

Capsules have a solid structure, a cylindrical shape and a dense yellow gelatinous shell. As the contents, a powder of a yellowish shade consisting of 300 mg of troxerutin per capsule is presented.

For topical use, 2% gel is used in a tube, 1 g of the finished gel contains 20 mg of active ingredient troxerutin.

Troxevasin ointment during pregnancy

Troxevasin gel during pregnancy (ointment) has the ability to reduce the permeability of the capillary wall, to remove the signs of the inflammatory process in the blood vessels and to prevent the formation of thrombi.

The structure of the gel allows the drug substance to penetrate the tissue in the best way by means of the usual application to the skin. The gel is a self-sufficient medical preparation, however its combined use with oral capsules of troxevasin significantly enhances the positive effect of troxerutin on the vascular system.

The anti-edema action of the gel is based on the reinforcing abilities of the active substance. The walls of the capillary system become more durable, their permeability decreases. This effect on the vascular membrane is especially important in metabolic disorders, when the vessels become extremely fragile and vulnerable.

The troxevasin gel is also used for hemorrhoids, because this disease is nothing but the same weakening of the vascular wall, as in varicose veins, only of other localization.

The gel also helps with external traumatization of tissues: hematomas, closed bruises. This drug provides an early resolution of interstitial hemorrhages and edema.

Capsules of troxevasin in pregnancy

With the onset of pregnancy, the risk of varicose veins increases with each week. The enlarged uterus produces increased pressure on the nearest vessels, which contributes to the development of venous stasis and swelling. And stagnant phenomena can capture both superficial and deep veins of the legs.

Capsules of the drug troxevasin contribute to strengthening the walls of blood vessels, improving lymph flow, removing signs of inflammation and swelling. Favorable effect on the capillary walls serves as a preventive maintenance and such a serious complication in pregnant women, as manifestations of gestosis.

The duration and scheme of taking troxevasin is determined by the attending physician. It is interesting that the simultaneous administration of troxevasin and ascorbic acid enhances the beneficial effect of venotonic.

Capsules can be used both as a prophylaxis and for the treatment of some initial manifestations of varicose veins of the venous vessels: gravity in the lower limbs, swelling of the legs, the appearance of a vascular network, redness, convulsive phenomena (especially at night), pain. Simultaneously with taking capsules, it is recommended to use troxevasin gel, as well as other measures for the prevention of varicose veins.

Pharmacodynamics

Troxevasin - a drug that protects the vessels from damage. It reduces the permeability of the choroid by reducing pores between the cellular endothelium and restructuring the fibrous structure of the intercellular space.

The drug prevents platelet aggregation and enhances erythrocyte compliance, while inhibiting inflammatory processes.

With prolonged phenomena of venous wall insufficiency, troxevasin helps to eliminate signs of blood stagnation: puffiness, convulsive manifestations, tenderness along the veins, disturbances in the nutrition of tissues and, as a consequence, ulcerative skin lesions.

Significantly facilitates the condition of patients with hemorrhoids: relieves of soreness, itching, eliminates hemorrhages.

With diabetes, troxevasin positively affects the condition of the vascular wall, reduces the characteristic for this disease of increased vascular permeability and fragility of capillaries, which further prevents the occurrence of thrombosis of small vessels of the brain and retina.

Pharmacokinetics

Oral administration of the drug allows absorbing about 15% of the active substance. The maximum concentration threshold in serum is determined within 1.5-2 hours after application of troxevasin. The therapeutic effect lasts about eight hours after the drug has entered the bloodstream.

More than 20% of the drug is excreted from the body through the urinary system, the rest passes through all the metabolic stages in the liver and is excreted with feces unchanged.

Dosing and Administration

The use of troxevasin in the period of gestation should be controlled by the treating doctor, who individually prescribes the most appropriate form of the drug and the optimal dosage.

The standard administration of the drug involves the use of one capsule of troxevasin up to three times a day, during meals, with a glass of liquid.

The efficacy of troxevasin during pregnancy may not appear immediately, but within 10-14 days. After that, the doctor decides whether to continue taking troxevasin: therapy can be canceled, or continued with the preservation or reduction of the initial dosage of the drug.

The standard duration of therapy with troxevasin is one month, the effect of the drug should be maintained for at least 3 weeks after the end of the admission.

The presence in the patient of metabolic pathologies requires an individual approach in the appointment of angioprotective agents.

Is it possible to have troxevasin during pregnancy?

In the early stages of pregnancy, you should avoid taking any medications. Starting with the twelfth week of gestation, that is, from the second through the third trimester inclusive, the use of troxevasin is possible.

Troxevasin in pregnancy

During the first weeks of pregnancy, while taking drugs is not recommended, you can use standard preventive measures aimed at reducing the burden of the venous system and improving the venotonus.

  • Try to stand less in one place: if possible sit down, or be like, do not let the blood stagnate in the veins.
  • In the lying position it will be useful to put under the feet of a pillow or roller to facilitate the outflow of venous blood from the lower limbs.
  • If long walking or standing position is unavoidable, use compression knitwear, which can be purchased at pharmacies: special tights from varicose will evenly distribute the load throughout the venous system of the lower limbs and will not allow individual venous sites to bulge outward.
  • Try not to allow swelling of the legs: exclude the consumption of salt and chemical preservatives.
  • Eat more vegetables and fruits - a full-fledged diet rich in vitamins and valuable microelements will strengthen the vascular walls and support venous tone.

Troxevasin for hemorrhoids during pregnancy

Hemorrhoids - an extremely unpleasant disease of the venous vessels of the anus. This can be due to congenital and acquired weakness of the vascular wall, as well as frequent constipation caused by improper diet or sedentary lifestyle.

The active substance of the drug - troxerutin - penetrates into the vascular membranes of the hemorrhoidal veins, improves the nutrition of tissues, prevents the formation of thrombi, strengthens the valve system and the vascular tone. Due to the therapeutic effect, the hemorrhoidal nodes decrease, the venous blood flow improves, stagnant phenomena in the vessels disappear. Signs and symptoms of the inflammatory process are gradually docked, puffiness is greatly reduced.

To fix the effect of troxevasin in hemorrhoids, it is recommended to carry out preventive measures for the expansion of hemorrhoidal veins: treatment of constipation, eating foods rich in fiber, vegetables, fruits, with a sedentary lifestyle should include regular exercise, massage, air.

Instructions for use of troxevasin in pregnancy

Troxevasin in the form of a gel can be applied exclusively to intact skin. It is forbidden to apply the drug on open wound surfaces, ulcerous skin lesions, with external inflammatory processes. Do not administer the drug into the anus: the gel is not used on the mucous membranes.

The preparation is treated with the external surface of the skin, rubbed with non-intensive movements, easily massaging the affected area.

When applied to the hemorrhoids, it is possible to lubricate directly exposed nodules, or apply a gauze impregnated with gel, overnight.

The procedure for applying troxevasin in pregnancy is desirable to be performed twice a day, the treatment can be quite long, up to several months, depending on the patient's condition and the severity of varicose veins.

Capsules of troxevasin are taken whole, without chewing and not biting them, preferably with food intake, washing down a glass of liquid. Duration of admission is calculated by the doctor.

Contraindications for use

Among the most striking contraindications to the use of troxevasin during pregnancy, we can distinguish the following:

  • the first trimester of pregnancy;
  • presence of hypersensitivity of the body to angioprotective agents;
  • hypersensitivity to other constituents of the drug;
  • acute stage of gastritis or gastroduodenitis;
  • acute stage of peptic ulcer disease of the gastrointestinal tract.

The use of external gel is contraindicated in the presence of open wounds and lesions of the skin at the site of the intended application of the drug.

Side effects

If no increased sensitivity to any of the components of the drug has been detected, adverse effects with troxevasin during pregnancy may be extremely rare.

Theoretically, there may be dyspeptic disorders, gastritis; redness of the face, headaches, a feeling of heat.

Discontinuation of the drug usually leads to the normalization of the condition and the relief of side effects.

Overdose

Overdose of troxevasin during pregnancy is considered unacceptable, since the drug should be taken under the doctor's control.

If you have suspicious symptoms, such as headaches, nausea, redness of the face, psychomotor agitation, you should consult your doctor.

In case of an overdose, a gastric lavage procedure may be required, as well as symptomatic therapy.

Interaction with other drugs

The medicinal effect of troxevasin on vascular tone increases the simultaneous intake of 0.5 g of vitamin C.

Anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic effect of troxevasin is enhanced by the intake of acetylsalicylic acid in a dosage of 250-325 mg / day. However, it should be noted that taking aspirin during pregnancy is highly discouraged. This appointment can only be used by a doctor in the presence of strict indications to him.

Storage conditions

Room temperature, a dark dry place to which a child's access is not possible, is the best condition for storing troxevasin. It is not necessary to put the outer gel in the refrigerator - it is enough to protect the preparation from heating and direct sunlight.

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life of troxevasin may be up to 5 years.

Reviews

The quality and effectiveness of the drug in many respects exceed its cost. The best effect is achieved with long-term and combined administration of the drug. Chaotic and uncontrolled reception, frequent skipping of the required dose, use of the drug less than 2 to 3 capsules a day without the use of external gel may adversely affect the expected efficacy of troxevasin.

Only a full course of the drug and a certain scheme of its administration will provide an improvement in the patients' condition, as well as a reduction in the symptoms typical of varicose veins or hemorrhoids. Do not forget that in the presence of varicose veins and trophic ulcers, the use of angioprotectors is already ineffective, in such situations, consultation of the vascular surgeon is required.

Troxevasin in pregnancy is often used as preventive measures to reduce the load on the vascular wall of the lower limbs, and the problem copes with this task quite effectively.
